If you were not blinded or killed by the initial blast, I'd look for the deepest cave or thickest bunker I could find. I'd want as many halving thicknesses between me and the outside as possible to ensure my chances of survival were high. Yes, it'd be nice not to feel anything if I were vaporized at ground zero, but that's unlikely to happen (most deployed nuclear devices are tactical munitions, and would have a tiny yield in comparison to the city-leveling strategic nukes you've seen tested on video.) Your chances of going quickly are slim unless you're about a quarter mile or less from a high-value target. otherwise, expect severe burns, blindness, and a deafening boom, followed by possible firestorms. I wouldn't WANT to see a nuclear explosion in real life, and I wouldn't be focused on the wilson clouds. I'd be focused on survival:P
the blast is nice, I really like it:tup:
Thanks! Xray, I'll see if I can address the issue. It never does it for me, but I think I may know why it's happening at times for you

EDIT: Xray, now it shouldn't do it anymore. I figure it was caused by the burst cam relying on the trigger being held for it to actually step up. if you managed to fire a round or two, but released the trigger before the bolt hit the back of the receiver, it didn't count the shot you stopped on. so it could very well allow you to fire two, and if you released just in time, it'd only account for one shot, meaning you had a 2-burst next pull. now, if you pull the trigger, there's a virtual "dropped hammer", and that value is used to determine if the cam should step up or not. if the hammer is "already cocked" it won't, like if you're cycling the action manually. if you're firing, the hammer has "dropped", meaning it will step up. I don't know how else to describe the mess of scripting that's responsible for a rifle counting to 3.

holy hell, that's a lot of customization! Yeah, The AKM used a mechanically-operated ammo check on the magazine. The reason for that was that the AKM doesn't lock open on the last round, whereas the Stoner platform does. If I had used a mechanical ammo check on this, it would strip a round from the magazine as soon as you inserted it, so that was a no-go. Instead, I used a laser to run the feed check as the bolt went to battery. I suppose it does make what you described a bit difficult. However, I post my stuff here so people can use it, and modify as they please. Feel free to upload any mods you want to this, or anything else for that matter. I do have the M4A1 variant (Full auto instead of burst) made, so I can upload that if people are truly interested. Who knows, perhaps a "pimp my gun" contest could be made from it? We'll see. Thanks for the support and the quite amazing mod!

Xray, I owe a lot of that Thyme Swagger to you:P
story of algodoo: too many people, and too few who care. Nice gun, and a massive improvement over the previous iteration.
very nice! I may borrow this down the road. thanks for sharing:D
Well, Xray, As far as making it not work, that's given. The other stuff really doesn't matter. The point being, I don't want someone to completely overhaul the design into, say, a mounted heavy-MG when the initial design is a individual's 5.56mm Carbine. I will make some amendments to be more lenient, I suppose. Give me a minute.
Guys, you don't need to go to extremes to mod it into another file! Work in the scene you download, and when you save, save it with a new name. if you do, it'll carry any local variables with it:tup:
very nice! I'd definitely use this as a pillow, or something. Looks comfy:P For as much as I include folding/telescoping stocks on stuff, you'd never guess I'm actually more fond of a fixed stock XD. I've amended some of the rules a bit to allow script mods and moving parts mods if people desire. Check them all out!

Thanks for the kick-ass compliment XD Technically the M4's already an SBR under ATF regulations for having a barrel length under 16 inches. M4's got a 14.5 inch barrel stock

I've amended the rubric to be more lenient with mods. take a look.

Holy balls is this gorgeous. You definitely managed to make my beastly pc lag a bit, but performance can take a hit for aesthetics. I'm rather fond of the Navy (my loved one's a sailor, and she's currently deployed, so why wouldn't I be?), so this mod stands out to me.

edit: oh shoot, I forgot to mention, the beta c's are all at 30 rounds! I add a script to mags that limits their capacity, it's under poststep. Since mags are reloadable, I figured I'd not want to be able to fit 500 rounds into a 30-rounder, but in this instance, I see why the script makes it an issue. Regardless, nice work

well, the thing is, you want your bomb to be functional to some degree, as well as aesthetic, but you want it to kind of tie together as well. While this looks nice, it would be awkward to see when expecting an explosion. It's good art, but it's really just that: art. however, check out the amazing tutorials regarding thyme in the forums (yep, there are forums.)
Nicely done! definitely got some bugs, but those should be relatively easy to iron out:tup:
I always use chrome to upload and download. What I mean is, you can download the scene from chrome or IE or Firefox or whatever browser you use, then simply mod that scene and SAVE UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME to your primary scene directory (for me this is "ThisPC/Documents/Algodoo/Scenes"). you'll then be able to upload it via your browser. I never use the in-application browser because I find it rather annoying to use, so I had no idea it would automatically protect the scene data.
Xray, amen (no pun or quip intended.) There's really no point in finding out what truly happened, or anything for that matter. I recently visited the memorial of the Twin Towers in Manhattan, and rode the elevator to the top of the new WTC. While I was there, I was struck with the realization that it isn't important to shift the blame on someone or something, but mourn those we've lost, and cherish the good we have instead of seeking the bad. It happened, and regardless of how tragic it was, there is nothing we can do to change it.

I am very anti-religion. Not in the sense that I hate the people, but rather what many organized religions teach and manipulate their followers with. I was brought up with a Christian family, had Muslim friends, made companions with Jews, had a pagan girlfriend, and even had Satanist acquaintances who had a better sense of acceptance, morals, and what is right than some of the "godly" people I've known. I've determined for myself some divine intervention is, or was, necessary for our universe to exist as stably as it does. Beyond that, there is truly no way to determine the validity or lack thereof of any god, goddess, or being with universal understanding. Any religion I've seen does exactly what you said, and tends to state their beliefs are divine, everyone else's is wrong or evil, and some groups have used this as justification to take human life. The Crusades. Radical Jihadist movements. Roman mass-executions and slow-tortures of outsiders. It sickens me that such an argument could be made to take life. I don't hate the followers of these institutions, but the people who organize them are truly damned in my eyes for manipulating others in such a way. And whatever God, Goddess, or being created us is shaking his, her, or its head at our frivolity.
The flash effect is a little strange to me, but it's a tiny part of an otherwise great gun. Well done!
Did you use anything from the scene provided? :s
Thanks! Yes, I am a bit . . . twisted
Fantastic explanation of how you do this. Definitely more complex than what I do, and definitely more professional.I should probably take a few notes and learn from this.
this is good, but the selector and triggers systems are unnecessarily complex. rate of fire's also a bit slow.

I've been working a lot recently, but I may have a few free days to work out a system I'd been thinking about making. Stick around for that ;P

Anyway, this is not bad. Do work on increasing the rate of fire and simplicity of trigger mechanisms. I should know; I used to build triggers that looked more like something out of a transformers movie than the components to a firearm.
every damn gun you make lacks an automatic sear, and it's messing with my OCD XD Your gun has a lot of components that are unnecessary and some even are not used. What's that flapper at the back for? The rollers you have to lock the bolt momentarily don't actually do much, and often bounce uncontrollably. But again, my biggest quarrel is: you have no automatic sear. Makes one. 'Tis easy.
M14's a Vietnam-conflict or late Korean war firearm. WWII had the M1 Garand (en-bloc-clip-fed self-loading rifle) instead. Just a knit-pick:P

holy balls. This is amazing. Magazines are tough as hell to insert, with there being no real feedback on it, but I can look past that for the amazing work otherwise done here. fantastic job!
This is snappy, but again, no disconnect function whatsoever. Kinda cheated the effect by relying on the inertia of the firing block to drop all the way, but this would have huge problems in real life, life firing out-of-battery and issues associated with that.:/
ammo capacity screams Glock 21 instead, but I'll take it. The mechanism is amazing! this is actually really gorgeous, just a bit on the slow side. works like a charm, though, so sluggishness definitely can be seen past:P Field-stripping was easy, though I'm sad at the non-removable barrel and recoil spring :'( was kind of hoping to remove those for the fun of it, but oh well. 10/10 for fantastic work
nice sounds, sounded amazingly real XD There's actually a supplemental sound mod somebody made for algodoo, but it's quirky. I made a scene or two utilizing it, but it requires you to have the sounds installed into a folder. this is a comedic alternative for sure!

I love this (the hidden selector was funny to find), though the inability to extract a live round without it blowing up was a bit of a letdown. oh well, tiny things make a tiny difference (though, this would be a no-go in reality)
holy cow. You actually added a disconnector. The Phil is amused.
toni, yes, I use a normal mouse and keyboard to detail the firearm. It was something I neglected to pay much attention to in the past, and I focused on functionality instead. Now, I try to get EVERYTHING beautiful and functional. No graphics tablets, not gimmicks. Just the mouse and keyboard.
it's fragile because you didn't raise the simulation frequency at all, and honestly, it's a crude mechanism. IT hardly works, and bears no resemblance to the real thing. The selector doesn't change anything except the trigger's travel, and does not even function on safety. I cannot rate this:/
still using this old mechanism, I see. lol.
this is fantastic, but there is a huge problem: the shells do not eject where the gun is! they always eject from the same point in space, and that breaks the illusion a bit for me. HOWEVER, what you did to add a fixjoint to the two parts of the shell is truly innovative in this field, and I am massively impressed. you deserve a 10 ;P
I think the intimidation factor of this thing is in the negative XD I've got a tiny bit of time over the next day, and I'll certainly try to teach you what I can if you're interested. For a first try, at least the projectile leaves the muzzle. That's better than a lot of guns I've seen XP so I'll rate it an 8/10
