A short stroke 5.56x45mm FN SCAR-L

Instead of the gas pushing the bolt all the way back, this one uses a small piston
that uses the initial gas to push the bolt back

Heres a time-lapse and basic function video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpfJXlZxHTw

Enter to fire
Left/right for fire selector

Interesting concept. What do you think are the advantages of such a system over a conventional long-stroke one?
The only real advantage I've seen is a small bump in rate of fire, because the bolt is a bit lighter. But in algodoo I'm not sure if there are any advantages

this is good, but the selector and triggers systems are unnecessarily complex. rate of fire's also a bit slow.

I've been working a lot recently, but I may have a few free days to work out a system I'd been thinking about making. Stick around for that ;P

Anyway, this is not bad. Do work on increasing the rate of fire and simplicity of trigger mechanisms. I should know; I used to build triggers that looked more like something out of a transformers movie than the components to a firearm.
