Oh good! I'm glad that you have a good attitude about accepting constructive criticism. Some people cannot take any criticism at all, even if the result would be to improve things for them. Those people are either insecure or immature (or both).

I'm sure this particular gun just needs a little tweaking to get the action to move a little more smoothly and reliably. It's almost there!
What a great scene! This is very unique and very clever!
No, not quite, but I do spend a lot of time monitoring it because I am an Admin. Just curious, why did you ask me that? :)

Much better now! Good job!
Nothing happens.
Wow, this is amazing! The scene looks very simple, but the script to make it work is unusual and very clever. I don't understand much of how those two functions work, scene.my.way and scene.my.aimTexture. Maybe you will explain how they work in the Algodoo forum, because I want to learn what you did!

 _o_
lololoer - The original script was the reverse of this one. In this new scene, the paint circles have in them e.other.color = e.this.color. In the original scene, each box surrounding the room had in them e.this.color = e.other.color. Because there are many more boxes than paint circles, the original script caused long load time and more computer lag. By putting the script in the paint circles, the scene now runs better. That's all.
Yes, I can print the functions no problem. I just don't fully understand them. :bonk:

Have you tried to click on the links in the forum that I told you about? You should be able to reset your password.
Strange, but interesting!
Within seconds after starting the scene, it says "Game over, You Lose"! How is that the best ever??? :bonk:
Well, I'm sure that we can make the projectiles explosive, but the problem that I would have with mechanically shooting the gun is being able to accurately "zero" in on each target. There would need to be some way to be able to set the amount of velocity that each projectile has, and be able to set the exact elevation of the gun. I'm sure that it can be done, but I'm not so sure that I can do it! This sort of scene is out of my normal type of scene that I'm used to doing (card games, board games, etc). I can try to work with this cannon to see if I can do what I think it needs, but it won't happen too soon (if at all!). I'll play around with it and see if I could come up with anything. Go ahead and save this scene if you want to keep it, because I'm going to delete it soon.

Thanks
Sure, that might be interesting!
GREAT! Please let me know when you posted in the forum! :)
This gun works very well. Good job!
Excellent tutorial! _o_
He shot his hat off, and then he shot himself in his legs!

Good tutorial!

There is one problem. Your script that sets zoom and pan runs even when sim is not running, and so it is impossible to change zoom or pan with manual controls. I suggest that when you make this type of scene that your pan and zoom script only execute when sim is running.

Thanks!
Actually, I did not plan how they move. I was playing around with one of these guys and accidentally saw this type of motion, and it reminded me of someone burning their feet while walking over hot coals. So, if it looks awkward (and I agree that it does) it's just how it turned out. The scene was intended to be funny, not true-to-life!

Thanks!

Yes, I know that you did it on purpose, and that is Okay. But, it should not continue controlling the scene when the sim is no longer running. That is my only suggestion.;)

Thanks, ngphil! Every once in a while I get the urge to make a funny or goofy scene, and that's how this one turned out. :y

BTW - If you let the scene run for a while (you may have to rewind it and start over) those guys will sometimes do something unexpected, and it's often very funny. For example, I saw one of them walk over the guy in front of him, and then all of a sudden, the guy on the bottom flipped up in the air, spun around, and then landed in the coals on his butt! He was not able to stand up, but it looked so realistic like he was struggling to get up. It was actually kind of weird, almost like he was really struggling. :o

Wow, this a really cool! I'm sure it would be very helpful for someone to understand how the firing mechanisms work on those two ubiquitous AR's, and it could be a great educational tool in a beginning gunsmith course.
Good job!
Planetary gears have always fascinated me for some reason. I guess it probably because I like to watch them turn!

Nice job on the gears. What type of aircraft normally would use this type of geared turboprop system?
Oh, Okay. Thanks!
This is FUNNY! It reminds me of those corny Japanese monster movies from the 1950's.

(No, I did not pee my pants. Sorry....)

Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments.

Chemist - Yeah, I thought that it might be too easy, especially for the younger gamers nowadays who are quite skilled at all types of computer games. It was not too easy for me, but I am from an "older" generation who are not so skilled. I'll look at the possibility of making another, more difficult version.
Good points! Thanks again.
Hmmmm.... Maybe I should have called it "Hungry Reptile"!
Wow, this really is a PID control system!

Just curious, why do you change the size of the thrusters according to the log of the thruster force? What exactly does that do other than provide a visual indicator that something has changed?
Good, stable control system.
Yes, those works by Dante in which he very vividly describes what hell is like sure makes one think long and hard about it. Concerning the guys in my scene, are they any different from US? That is, some people believe that WE are nothing more than digital creatures living in a complex computer program (not unlike The Matrix). Who can say what is real and what is a digital representation of reality? We have no way of knowing for certain.

Thanks for your comments.
