And as always Killinich have blessed us with yet another top notch scene with the newest algodoo tech! I am very impressed, thank you!
As you say i cant either see any value in this concept in the real world but i say it makes an impressing and fun way to throttle an ball spawn engine! Great work Gent and The linkage! =)

Very cool! But i would rather call this an rotary ball spawn engine=) The density not only increases speed but also power and is needed in almost every algodoo engine:D nice work man
True, Draw an conclusion to fast:p
Oh i tryed the stretched hinge but i dont think i did it the right way because it seemed to make me loose alot of power:o
Since this just was something that came out of fooling around i do not have an actual save before the first test:/ But i do got an save where iv'e just put the engine and the cvt on an block to start build on and that is still on the grid atleast! And that one got the scripts ready to.
I could upload that one if you want=)

Uploaded it as a work in porgress scene respone to this scene now.
Very nice:D The stretched hinges makes it able to go alot faster! So ho do you do these stretched hinges things simply?

Oh and i dont think it seems any slower. Actually it seems faster=) But since you have deleted the "fly wheel circles" the engine is actually like 25 hp weaker;)(and insanly instable) But that doesent matter at all i guess since it seems to get up to 121m/s(435km/h) in under 50 sec wich is totally crazy!

This things make me think back at the days when phun builders struggled to get there huge bounce engines to go faster than like 10m/s;D

Now if i learn to use stretched hinges properly i will be building an snowmobile with all this new tech:D When i have the time for it
cool:tup:
you mean /5252:P and i think rad/s to rpm is like 9.5 but i always go with 10x anyway:p
82 sec in algodoo 2.0.2 b15. 4.2 ghz amd phenom II x6. Temps 30c. You got one pretty hot cpu there jon_joy;)
dude what spec do you got altse?
i like it!=) But i belive the power curve should be tuned some for it to be more realistic, it seems to have very linear power as is:p

Why are you moving here? Just curious:p
Cool! Love your creations:D
Thanks! It doesent have a whole lot of trust (i got it to About 80kg if i remember right) but if you make an car of it and connect the wheel to the turbine it has tremendous torque:D

Well the turning i have no idea but its some kind of glitch in algodoo with the new hinges i think. I havent really looked into it yet tough and dont know how to stop it. If you untick the collision j of the turbine circle it will stop:P

If you find any way to stop it i please tell me:D
Oh thank you!=) I will never stop, just take long brakes;)
Great work there Gent!:D
Oh yes i think this has potential, it is very powerfull!:D (but maybe to heavy still)

It took me pretty long to get it to work in the first place! I think i will try building an version with my realistic fuel later on to see if i can make it keep burning without having the lasers ignite the fuel;) But i dont think that would be any faster or powerfuller, just more realistic:p

What is the error then? I think it works great:P
Thanks!:D It runs fine for me too, but not everyone owns an beast computer u know!

Doesn anyone know how to clean up this script? there's something with Failed to evaluate: vel := e.geom.entity.vel, Cannot find identifier "geom" in "ClassObject" that i can't seem to fix:/
Last edited at 2012/10/15 10:46:42 by Christer
Oh never mind, Just solved it! It was that i had put the e.geom in oncollide where it should be e.this:P
Very cool! I think you should use bending on the hinges instead so that the "iris arms" dont move out of position after a while=) And one of the crank linkages have collision a ticked and collides with one of the "iris arms".

just some feedback, keep up the good work! 10/10:D
Strange, for me the cicles doesnt fly out! But thats an good idea! Things can always be made better i think!;)

Just realised it goes faster in reverse btw! The deletion timing isn't perfect:P

Another problem right now is that the ball is centered by changing the spawn, pos := e.pos + [-0.01, 0.125]) so if the engine is rotated it will not spawn the circles in the right position.

This makes it unable to be used on any vehicle other than one that just goes straight forward:/ but that can be fixed by repositioning the spawner:)

Indeed we do Gent!=) I tried using the engine on an car but even with velocity scripts det circles doesent spawn in the right place when it gets up to speed:/ I will try making it an collision engine later instead to see how that works.

Two strokes as in adding more cylinders or arms or whatever to call them? If so i think that would look awesome! I would like to make sure everything is centered and the balls spawn in center. I have noticed the "whiparms" arent centered over the spawner:p
The engine springs doesnt go up to 15000 nm/2 for me?
Well anyway when i set the springs to 15000 i got out 17 hp of the engine wich makes 0,15 hp/1000 kg (17hp/111kg) and the real fiat only gets 0.11hp/1000kg (150hp/1275kg).
So power per weight is pretty realistic as the rest of the car. I love it! 10/10

Btw Yamaha R1's mc engine outputs around 190 hp from an 1 litre engine! Thats insane, but i guess it does suck some fuel to:bonk:

Hahah.. You seem to be good at making art in algodoo(the gangnam scene) why not make an car or som thing in high detail? =)
I like bmw's;)
Hilarious!
Rpm*Torque(Nm)/7124=Hp

Nice one!
cant really say that the quality is any worse than the quality of most of your scenes
