Darn it, S.A.! You're not supposed to give away my secrets. The people at Area 51 mean business, and now they may come looking for us. I just may have to borrow that Alien spacecraft that you stole from your home planet in the Alpha Beta Gamma star system. Man, that thing is FAST!
PTY78 - Yes, there IS a forum: http://www.algodoo.com/forum/
You can get to it by clicking on the link "Forum" at the top of any Algobox page. And yes, I did delete your scene because you were using Algobox like a forum, and I cannot allow that. Algobox is only for displaying scenes that people make. It is not for chatting with other users, like "what state do you live in?", and things like that. The forum was made for those kinds of discussions.
@yoshinator -- Why did you report that you made a typing mistake? Are you really that stupid? A typing mistake is not a reportable offense. I can't believe that you wasted my time with that.
And by the way, be advised that if you register another user account like you said you would, then your old account will be banned and you will not be able to use it ever again. So, I hope that you understand that. It is against the Rules (Algodoo Terms of Service) to register more than one user account.
Now please don't use the Report link for any more of your moronic nonsense.
The circle isn't "glitchy". The problem is something that YOU caused by making the circle so insanely large. There is absolutely no reason to have a circle with a radius of 3.4e029 meters! When I reduced it down to a reasonable size, the circle then behaved like any other normal circle.
If the "Baller" misses the melon, the melon still gets balled when it hits the ground. Suggestion: If the baller misses the melon, the melon should remain whole when it hits the ground, OR more realistically, the melon should break into a number of large chunks (not balls) when it hits the ground.
Fun scene, but the fun wears off very quickly. So, if you wanted to put the time and effort into making a game out of it (maybe multiple moving targets?), then it would be much more interesting and fun over a longer period of time. Just my humble opinion.
MoBuilds - Concerning your question about How does algodoo determine wich one is "Dominant", I have no idea. Only Emil, who was the lead programmer and developer of Algodoo knows those sorts of things. I can only "guess" that it's a timing issue that determines which one gets its code executed before the other one. There are other guys like kilinich and some of the other long-term users who know Algodoo and Thyme scripting much more intimately than I do. I'm sorry I cannot help you with that.
Your best bet would be to log in to the forum. I don't know why you have so much trouble with everything. In the past you have had trouble with your computer, with your user account, with Thyme scripting, and now with the forum. After having all those problems, I think the problem is YOU, and not Algodoo or your computer. No offense intended, but I don't know of anyone else on Algobox who has as much trouble with so many things as you do.
Yeah, that makes more sense now. I sort of knew that the first time I ran the scene, but then I over-complicated it by trying to make a game out of it. The thing that threw me off was the title "Melon Baller", and so I thought that was the main point of the scene. Sorry.
I deleted your comment.
You can't seem to do much of anything without problems. By the way, if you continue to use profanity, you will risk getting banned. Let this be a warning.
You refer to them as "animatronic". Do you even know what that means? Well, here is what Google says about it: "Animatronics refers to the use of robotic devices to emulate a human or an animal, or bring lifelike characteristics to an otherwise inanimate object. And so I was expecting your dolls in this scene to move around or dance, or do some sort of motion. Is that what you tried to do with them?
Some people are confusing Algodoo with Algobox. Algodoo is the physics simulation program that runs on your computer and which animates your awesome scenes that you make. Algobox is this website where users can post their scenes to show them off. The lead programmer for Algodoo (Emil) no longer works at Algoryx, and therefore the company no longer supports Algodoo. Emanuel says he will work on Algobox (this website) when he has time. He says the improvements will reduce some of the problems that we are all facing by being able to filter the scenes that we see.
RAMturtle - In this scene you wrote: "Click any user name", and then in the next egg you wrote" "In the ID, type 1, and press Enter". WHAT "ID" are you talking about? For example, I clicked on your user name, but then I do not see anything that says "ID". So, please explain.
EDIT: Never mind! I found the "id" in the address bar.
RAMTurtle -- You said that you found something strange with Algodoo, but that bug has nothing to do with Algodoo. The bug is in the website (Algobox) software, not Algodoo. People always confuse Algodoo, the physics simulation program that runs the scenes on your computer with Algobox, which is the name given to this website. GET IT STRAIGHT, PEOPLE!!!
Claim: "The object that was created first has dominance."
My experience: Make a scene that is similar to "Newton's Cradle" except with
only two swinging balls. Color one ball red and the other green. Add the following script to onCollide in each ball: e.other.color = e.this.color
Glue either ball to the background, and allow the other ball to swing freely. Grab the unglued ball and allow it to swing into the other ball. Note which ball changes color. Then reverse the glued ball so that now the other ball will be glued to the background and the ball that was glued is now free to swing. Repeat the experiment as above and note which ball changes color. Then unglue both balls and allow the red and green balls to swing into each other. Note which changes color.
You will find out as I did that there is no "dominant" object. Apparently the color switching is dependent on HOW the collision was made, and not on the time the object was created.
Please comment if you get different or unusual results from what I described.
Your scene was deleted by He/She/It because of the threatening nature of your text. We do not allow users to threaten other users with bodily harm, even if done in a joking manner. That's not what Algobox is supposed to be about. And, no, I will not say that it's okay to add that hateful wording back in your scenes.
I don't know why you felt the need to make such threatening and hateful comments in your scene, but that will not be tolerated by me or by any other "He/She/ or It".
