Wow! Amazing! Nice combination of scripting and mechanics ! I love how the gears make a good timing to the cams to open the valves to the intake and exhaust !
I like so much models showing the working of this kind of engine!
My favorite part is the cams controlling the openning and closing of the valves.

But if you have algodoo you could have used a laser to read the distance between the piston and uppper side of the chamber to make the inside shifts its color too.

Great work! It just is a little unstable but works good for me! Maybe you should use Autobrake in the hinges linking each link
You can also disable the autobrake on the whell of the amoo belt

Nice idea using scripting ! But you could have used circles to simulate the hidraulic fluid, made cylinders of different sizes and also a lever connected to pedal of the brake to make larger force.

The idea itself is interesting, but it needs more work like color chancing on the steel blocks and in the circles (to give that heat effect )
