Is it just me, or is this the first field-stripping, fully functional handgun on algobox? I have not seen any other pistols that disassemble. Granted, this one was horrible to get workingXD
Yeah, MP5 (and G-3) both have locking charging handles to load the gun. The magazine will not insert if the bolt is not locked in real life. I keep the bolt locked in this scene to make starting easier (just slap it down.)
This is pretty good for a first timer! It has an extractor and ejector, which are missing in even a lot of popular designs. The mechanisms work really well. What is missing is a disconnector mechanism. I have a few examples on how these work uploaded, even for an open bolt design. The disconnector keeps the bolt back after the shot while the trigger is held. It releases the bolt forward into the sear when the trigger is released. Make a bit of sense? The model you have would be fully automatic if it were magazine fed. This good though, and reliable at 60hz, Which I seem to be unable to do XD
your selector seems reversed! full auto functions like semi, and vice-versa. Excellent example by the way (despite selector positions seeming to be reversed). It could use some improvements as far as making the sear stay up on the release of the trigger, possibly using a strut instead of a cam. This is excellent, and I see a good potential for future firearms built by you!
I have seen this done before. It's interesting, to say the least.
By the way, were you using an algorythm that changes the spring settings in intervals?
