The AR-15 was designed by Eugene Stoner under ArmaLite. The design was eventually sold to Colt, who manufactured it under the M16 designation after small changes in design.

The AR-15 seen here is a demilitarized, civilian grade firearm, with semi-automatic fire only. RIGHT NOW, IT JAMS LIKE HECK! (not necessarily untrue to the original design, which was notorious for jamming at the most inopportune times.)

To use: Cycle action, switch to fire, and fire with enter/return or by dragging the trigger. in case of a jam, remember the acronym SPORT:
Slap the magazine,
Pull the charging handle,
Observe the breech for jams,
Release the charging handle, and
Tap the forward assist.

To field strip: clear the weapon, safe the weapon, pull the retention pin backward, pull the charging handle after the upper receiver has swung open, and remove the bolt and carrier.
