Gent - Do you have a file in your "algodoo\textures" folder named "cards.png"? If not, that may be why you cannot see the faces of the cards. Let me know and if you don't have it, I will upload the file to a forum post so that you can download it into your textures folder.

UPDATE: Here is a link to my forum post:
Card faces not showing up in POKER scene Let me know if this helps.

Thanks

Okay, I did what s_noonan suggested. Hopefully, Gent will be able to see the card faces now!
Yeah, I would like to hear from at least a few other users. As of this writing, there were 127 downloads of this scene, and you would think that more people would be gracious enough to chime in to report either it works or it doesn't work. (Am I asking for too much? <_< )
GREAT!!!!

Our thanks go to s_noonan for his suggestion!
Are you totally bored?
Just confirming.... You want this scene deleted?
Before the scene starts, there is a box labeled "shuffle". Then when the scene is started, the box falls to the "ground" and disappears.
Yes, I noticed that almost immediately, but the scene still works correctly. (i.e., if you happen to select a pair while uncovering 3 or 4 cards, the pair does not register as a hit.)

The scene works as expected. GOOD JOB!
Do you still want me to delete that laser listening device scene? I could do that, but you should be able to delete your own scene. Just click on the delete tab.
You are partially correct. When a user deletes a scene, it stays in a "secret" Algobox category called "deleted scenes" and any Admin can view all deleted scenes (there are some pretty nasty scenes in there!).

You are correct that when you update "edit" an old scene, it will stay in it's current location in the scenes queue. The only way to force a scene to the top of the queue so that newer users will see it is to give it a different title (maybe append "V2" to it).

By the way, is that YOU in your scene titled "Dancing Man"? Just curious. ;)
Cool! I'm an old timer too, and I also have a full beard and mustache! :)

When I first saw the picture, it reminded me of Bob Pease. He was an analog circuit designer and brilliant electronics engineer. He died in 2011 from a car crash. He is well known in the electronics community, as he published a lot of technical papers and magazine articles.

Hmmm... that's odd. Although, if you access Algobox through the built-in browser in Algodoo, then that would make sense. It is very limited. But if you were able to access your scenes through Internet Explorer or other common browsers, then you would be able to edit your comments.
So, you are a Skyrim fan too!

Have you seen my Skyrim Giant scene?

One of my favorite shouts is "Dismay" because it makes the enemy flee in fear for his life. It's kind of funny to watch them crouch down behind a rock and put their hands over their head.
Is that a large, uncooked turkey that I see in the upper-right corner of the city picture when I zoom out?

Nice job on this scene! The cars movements are a little jerky, but overall it's an interesting scene.
Wow! Nicely done! The mechanical precision is excellent, and everything works smoothly and tight. It doesn't fall apart when I cock the slide or pull the trigger like many other guns do on Algobox, and it really does shoot the rubber bands! This is one of the best Algodoo guns!

You are very talented at scripting, and you certainly understand math and logic very well!. Do you work as a software engineer, or anything like that? _o_
Good job! Very realistic.
Pretty good tutorial except your note about getting "hate comments from Xray". I do not send "hate comments". If someone violates the rules, I let them know about it in a warning, and I may delete the scene. But I don't do it with hate. I do it because it's my job. Therefore, I would appreciate it if you would change that note in the scene to something like, " you may get a warning from Xray....".

Thanks
Instead of saying just "help", people will understand what you need help with if you explain what your problem is. And don't say something like, "It don't work". BE SPECIFIC. Explain what you are trying to do and what doesn't work.

Thanks

This is an unusual application for an optical switch, but I can see how it might work if you can get the light from the LED to reflect off the mylar film and back into the phototransistor. If that's a 10K resistor in series with the LED, then the LED might be too dim to produce enough light. 10K at 5 volts gives only about 0.5 mA source current for the LED. Normally, they like to see at least a few mA (typically around 10) when operated as an optical switch. And yes, you would need a pullup resistor so that the phototransistor can conduct, and a blocking capacitor on the input to the amplifier. I played around with similar circuits in my younger days when I spent more time building electronic gadgets.

CORRECTION: I adjusted my monitor, and now that resistor looks to be 1k, which should work just fine (Colors are not accurate on my crappy monitor).

It's interesting, but I wouldn't call it "EPIC".
Phungl - I already sent this user a warning about that and I deleted the extra scenes. Thanks

Fun stuff! :)
Cool machine! Only problem is, it does not seem to follow the mouse correctly. The movement is very sluggish and unpredictable. Maybe needs a little work to make the movement more reliable and accurate?
Sooo hardly??? Sorry, what does that mean?

Did you mean to say "So hard"? If you need help with the Thyme script, then maybe I could help you. If you want help, then please tell me where most of the script is located. In other words, which geometry contains the script that makes the motion. Thanks!

Not necessary to type a million exclamation points! One is sufficient. If you need help with your scene, just ask for it and maybe someone will help you. Make sure to explain what the problem is, and give specific details about it.

Thanks

It responds much better now.
Okay, even though you didn't ask, I'll tell you what I think is going on. When you made those circles, you gave each one a different "Restitution" value. That's why they bounce at a different height. I don't know why you would give each one a different restitution value without knowing the effect that changing the restitution would have on them. But anyhow, that's the reason why they bounce differently. If you change the restitution of them to all the same value, then they will bounce the same height.

You're welcome.

Okay, you've tested things with this car, but you should explain how to use it so that others can maybe test things with it too! Also explain how the mini movement detector works. DETAILS PLEASE! :)
