That wouldn't be too hard to add!
I will say though that negative luminosity might be a little strange. In real life there's a minimum temperature for all objects (about -273.15 C) known as Absolute 0 -- The Cosmic Microwave Background heats things up by about 3 degrees above this (so about -270 C) but to maintain realism it would only theoretically be possible to cool things down by 3 degrees.*
*I haven't actually added the CMB yet -- I will in the color/luminosity override update.
Nonetheless it sounds fun to have a planet that's like, negative 1 billion degrees, and the simulation isn't even close to 100% accurate anyway -- so why not!
Another thing I think could be cool but could be a little complicated (so no guarantees as to whether or not I add it) is turning planets into stars.
What would happen to the solar system if Jupiter maybe... you know... got replaced with Proxima Centauri? Just saying...
Thank you!
My friend taught me that a few weeks ago when I was talking about potential improvements to this scene -- It makes a lot of sense now that i think about it.
It's fine.
I'm actually turning 18 soon now -- which I find crazy.
I'm pretty severely disabled though so I can't actually work most jobs, so me becoming an adult probably won't affect my scene output much (if at all)
As it is, I don't go to school anymore (I graduated about a year ago) so I have oodles of free time -- the bottleneck to my upload rate isn't a matter of free time but more a matter of my fluctuating interests (hence why i have short bursts of productivity every few months, aside from car scenes which i purposely try to space out because otherwise i'd have like 5x as many, you would not believe just how many cars i have in my phunlets...)
I find this very interesting actually.
The weird glitch circle I cut them from actually had far higher mass than it should have for its density, but for these it looks like they have far, *far* lower mass than they should.
I set their density to 2.0 and friction to 0.5 and they still behave strangely on my end -- especially when you throw them, even at 100 density.
These things are oddly fascinating to me and I can see myself playing with these more in the future or potentially even trying to find a way to turn any polygon into one of these weird foamy things.
The strange sticking together in particular could have some weird kinds of uses. I'm not sure what it would potentially achieve that adhesion wouldn't, but it would be interesting nonetheless.
It makes me wonder -- some forms of degenerate polygons (such as the spiral I cut this from) make Algodoo think they have far, far more area than they really do.
I wonder if I could use this to my advantage to create some sort of super compact hot air balloon?
Hi! I saw your last scene -- I just wanted to pitch in and say that you're never too old for Algodoo!
I've been using Algodoo since I was 8 and I've since graduated high school, and I plan to continue using it for the foreseeable future -- and I know several adults who still use it too!
I understand your decision though. Ultimately it's best to do what's right for yourself -- even if that's leaving Algodoo.
I have a popcorn ceiling in my room (fear not, it was installed in the 90s -- no asbestos here!) and there have been times where, while I was falling asleep or just bored, I was staring at it and began to see faces in it.
I grew up playing Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection and Sonic Generations on the 360 when I was little until our 360 had the dreaded RROD sometime in the early 2010s :c
I hadn't played Sonic again until 2021 when I was going through a really rough phase in my life and I found out that Steam actually sold the classic Sonic Genesis games!
I bought all of them (including the spinoffs) and I also got a bunch of the virtual console GameGear games on my 3DS!
I've been playing Sonic fairly consistently since (aside from 2023/2024 because I was going through a lot at the time) and I just bought Sonic x Shadow Generations for the PC and Sonic Lost World for my 3DS! (I still use the thing daily after all these years!) and it's been a blast going through Sonic Generations again for the first time in over a decade...
I also picked up Sonic Generations for the 3DS but I haven't played it yet.
And then there's Sonic Advance which I've been really enjoying too! (it's actually what inspired me to make this scene!)
I've never actually seen any of the Sonic shows sadly. I heard the Sonic movies are on Paramount+ -- maybe I should look on there sometime?
Sorry for rambling, Sonic is just one of the things I'm really passionate about.
I would like to continue working on this rig (feel free to make your own modifications and perhaps come up with your own wacky characters too! ) and perhaps share an updated version in the future!
I personally try to steer clear of AI (especially generative AI) but I can definitely see how things like Google Search Overviews or ChatGPT can help people in a pinch.
It definitely is no substitute for real engineering/physics/etc school though.
This scene (with the ID of 285100) is the same as the scene with the ID of 285101.
Something must have happened and Algobox mixed the 2 scenes up.
I've actually seen this happen before to my own scenes, but I don't think I've ever seen it happen to someone else!
I think this typically happens when 2 scenes are uploaded at nearly the same time, but Algobox scenes are only uploaded so many times a day, so it's quite a rare occurrance.
For me, I don't use DeviantArt but I am a professional artist -- I don't share art outside of my circle though. Some of it has been put in a gallery though which makes me feel pretty pressured...
