Looks and works very good
Nobody paid much attention to my turbine so I quit messing with it
I actualy got the basic idea from Christer look it up ;)

WOW best new engine concept ever and so simple _o_
I had thought of something similar to this but stupidly
complex :bonk:
Great job
oh 10/10
RPM should only be limited by the sim speed
Last edited at 2013/11/01 23:21:09 by Gent
That realy hurt the RPM :bonk:
try adding another laser about 175 degrees out on the other side
I have run into this a lot :bonk: just one laser might not trigger in the time slice where multiples or slight mis alignment of a second will ;)
Keep up the good work but this is a step back from your first version :(
This is an old engine of mine:
http://www.algodoo.com/algobox/details.php?id=33047
It's throttleable, reversible and has idiotic amounts of torque BUT no RPM and what it boils down to as near as I can figure is the fewer collisions the faster our engines can run period;)

Super cool as always Bill_o_
I have decided I suck at helicopters, have a nice 3D capable
mini RC copter that I can almost hover
Finaly got tired of buying rotor blades for it
Nice, should read "right arrow accelerate"
Impressive
Crap is throttleable even a real word:bonk:
Thanks Xray;)
Thanks Bill, glue together is nice but it can BITE you hard!!!
I spent at least as much time backing up and getting this unstuck
as I did building it in the first place:bonk: :bonk: :bonk:
I wish you could select the background and Loosten IT:y
Thanks lethalsquirl, I know you had said you were waiting on this
Sorry but it just took this long to get it to the point I could stand to release it:bonk:
I tried other methods of throttleing the thing that didn't work well and finaly figured this out today but I suck at scripting so that took several more hours to sort out:blush:
Once I got the damn thing unstuck I left it that way
Lots of fun but I don't think there is enough fuel available to finish the course?
Well I did say I wasn't there yet
Thanks for the comment Linkage!!!
I don't think we can get any real speed out of a wankle
but it has been fun to play with;)
Wrong, 1 explosion per rev of the eccentric per rotor
In this example the compression would be on the top;)
The bottom would be the exhaust

Good Idea but effectively the same thing is happening :(
I had to increase the sim.frequency to 200 to get it to work on my comp,
the gears were slipping :s
On my 4 stroke 9 cylinder radials the cam ring is turning at 1/8
crank speed but the lasers still only have the same amount of time to do their job as if the cam was only turning 1/2 crank speed :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:
Upload all you want far better than the avalanche of newbie junk we have been buried with lately <_<
Wow this runs 90 rads @ 200 hz but is showing lots of errors in the console
AWESOME _o_    1000/10
Nice
This is pretty cool,I'm working on it expect a scene response ;)
Way cool
Look at the laser scripts in this scene for ideas on timers
The scripts are by S Noonan and very usefull!!!!!
http://www.algodoo.com/algobox/details.php?id=66315
HMM is the phase angle in RAD:bonk: :bonk: :s :s
I have tried to use this and it makes no sense
Gimme degrees and RPM

Cool nice to see you making motors ;)
I think I now know how to do the bend thing:blush:
The value is in rad :bonk: so the stagger isn't exact in this
I initialy tried just turning the braked hinges but it eventualy
went back to the original timing, the bend stops that ;)
It will pull a 500nm brake @ 40 rads

LOL me too Bill:blush:
be sure to have both circles at 0 angle in the original build
BEFORE applying a bend target to have any hope of getting desired results
This scene is kinda screwed up but sorta works due to trial and error:bonk:
Its hard to do much with an existing scene but you can view the angle of an existing circle in the script and go from there
I have confirmed that the bend target is in radians, 1 radian = 180/pi or
approximately 57.3 degrees, leave it to the scientific community to use units
nobody understands
Any way you can totally lockstep stretched hinges with bend which is cool because there is slip in braked hinges even with +inf strength which can mess up your carefully adjusted timing events :bonk:
OK I'll shut up now but the discussions are my favorite part of Algodoo ;)
ok fixed, good call
I just try and learn by looking at the script in other people's scenes, don't look at the "BEND" values in this they are totally messed up:blush: :bonk:

Fun to play with
I like it
SUPER COOL
Very entertaining video too, how did you do that? :s :s
Congratulations on the rating seems nobody rates anymore:(
I always rate unless its a complete garbage scene:angel:

Thanks Steve sorry I missed your comment I need to get back to work on it:bonk:
I think a 100 rads wankle is possible;)
