Very cool scene
The wheels start going crazy just as I'm about to catch up with the truck
I have tried changing the wheel axles to legacy mode 0 but that messes
them up
A fix for this and some instruments would be extra cool
10/10
Nice addition with the shift indicator
I almost ramped over the truck
This is fun, don't know why you havn't gotten more comments
If you can fix the wheel issue it will be realy BAD ASS
your original has a 20 tooth and a 30 tooth
I rebuilt it with an 8 and 12 tooth cgears but its not turning smoothly
so I don't have something quite right
PS you have to scale the inner gear somewhat smaller to work free in this
type of setup
I had the gears working smooth
before I put it all together
I will upload what I have after work if you want?
Thanks lethalsquril, looking forward to your new version
Precision is key to get an engine to run good here and in the real world
Try and avoid colliding polygons wherever possible!!!!!!!
Thanks Linkage Cgears are awesome, but in a setup like this they have to be perfect and then we are fighting with everything stretching due to centrifical forces which realy sux ass
The stretch causes bind in the gears
Literaly everything I want to do with algodoo involves high speed and high power so I'm just hanging out and trying to learn and help where I can
You need to move the whole ignition and gun thing up a bunch similar to my version of squirl's engine but it will prolly over rev
You are missing a bunch of the available power stroke
I think I will try building a 3 rotor in a more realistic scale from scratch
Wish me luck
100 RAD/s target
PS on measuring power,
to find horse power create a brake on the engine that limits
it to whatever speed you want to test and then convert the
N/M value to foot pounds, multiply that by the RAD/s converted to RPM and divide by 5252 = HP
HP= tourque in foot lb x RPM / 5252
SUPER COOL I may have to use this in my 3 rotor
My scripting is pretty lame was going to use
mechanical means to do the same thing
Thanks for showing me the error of my ways in the hinge stretch thing
This is cool but if you scale the inner gear somewhat smaller it dos the same thing and you retain the circle collision vs the totally messed up polygon
collision crap
You are right and this design runs very smooth
Now if you could make a gear generator similar to
Kilinich's for this type that would be awesome
PS I'm still working on my 3 rotor wankel
minimum # of teeth in the gears seems to be the key
going to take a complete rebuild at this point
