Finally! A well running rotary engine in Algodoo!
Not only that but it's a DUAL rotor!

This scene runs at 200Hz, but it can run at default frequency (kinda) :yum:

Thank you!! Always love getting comments from older members
That's no joke. I'm even older than kilinich, if you can believe that!
I didn't mean age lol. I meant early members.
Nicely done.  I had to pull it apart and read Wikipedia to figure out how it works. The fact that it runs over such a wide sim.frequency range indicates that it is well built.

Very cool
I may have to tweak this ;)
I think there is more power and speed to be had here
10/10
Thanks! I'm actually tweaking it myself too. I kinda just threw this together in a few hours after seeing a documentary on rotary engine. :)
My old 2r wankel has pretty much the same strenght if scaled at the same size as yours.
Still 10/10:D
Does anybody know the gear ratio between the fixed gear and the rotor gear?
I seriously got this one right by sheer luck, and I can't find the right size to make the gears again. I keep trying over and over with different gear sizes/different numbers of gear teeth but I just can't get it. )|(

I want to make this over with circle gears.
your original has a 20 tooth and a 30 tooth
I rebuilt it with an 8 and 12 tooth cgears but its not turning smoothly
so I don't have something quite right
PS you have to scale the inner gear somewhat smaller to work free in this
type of setup;)
I had the gears working smooth:)
before I put it all together:bonk:
I will upload what I have after work if you want?
I've used 16 and 48 teeth for my cgear wankel.
Try with very high densities for the Cgears if you'll make it work at 100 hz or 60.
Thanks so much for the help!!
sorry, 16 and 24 hehe
ahhh that makes more sense. I was sitting there looking at a 16 and a 48 c-gear, thinking the 48 looked way too big.
hey I did some research and the 1.5 to 1 ratio is correct ;)
on my version the redone "ignitor" hinge runs backwards and I'll be damnd
if I know why :bonk:
