Why did you post a screen shot of the problem? People can help you better if they have the actual scene to work with. So, if you can provide a link to the problem scene, I might be able to help you with your problem.
(No, I do not know "everything" about Algodoo. No one, except the engineer who developed it knows everything about it.)
@Hazevision550 - Please stop wasting my time by reporting every little comment that you don't happen to like. MLMoyman333 did not violate the rules by telling you what he doesn't like about your scenes. If he uses profanity (Cuss words), or if he threatens you in any manner, then YES, report him. But please don't bother me again simply because someone doesn't like your scenes.
Click on "upload" near the top of this page, just as if you wanted to post a new scene. You will then be presented with the upload page where you enter information about your scene. At the bottom of that page you will see a box labeled "Group". You click on the arrow next to that box and then you select the group that you want your scene to go into. If you do not click on a group, then your scene will be placed in the "default" group. You have uploaded many scenes over the past few months. Don't you even have a clue what a group is?
Anyhow, I think that you accidentally selected a group which is not allowed, so just go ahead and select the Marble Race group instead. After you enter all the other information about your scene, it should then upload to Algobox.
applejack -- Do you have trouble understanding what I said? You keep rambling about what your scene does, and I told you I can only help you if you show me a link to your scene. That way I'll be able to load it and test it myself. Go to your scene that you need help with and copy/paste the url to a comment so that I could download it.
Oh, you probably use the Algodoo browser for uploading and downloading scenes. I assumed that you use a browser like Internet Explorer or Chrome, etc. That's why you don't see UPLOAD!
Well, in that case I don't know what can cause the wrong group to be selected. I'll ask someone else to see if he knows what can cause that. In the mean time, maybe someone else who knows about the Algodoo browser can help you.
Hazevision550 - I asked for help with this issue in the Algodoo FORUM. So, hopefully within a couple of days someone will see my request for help and they will respond to you.
Concerning the "common Internet joke", I have been surfing the net since around the mid 1990's and have never heard of such a thing. And I would bet that there are a lot of other people who have never heard of it either. But now I do!
I learned a lot today because of your scene and because of the resulting research that I did on the Brachistochrone. Thank you very much for posting it.
Oh, Okay. That makes sense. I know there are a lot of other scenes of various font characters in the archive. Some are pretty good, and others are just plain crap. It looks like you've done a very good job on these. They are crisp, clean, and very professional looking. Good job!
By the way, why do you call it "Variations On A Dream"? What does that have to do with font characters?
I really don't care about what you are going to make. I was just asking how THIS trick was supposed to work because it doesn't do anything. The rabbit just sits inside the hat where no one can see it! What were you thinking?
Could it be that Algodoo uses sim frequency as a time base for calculating damping in much the same way that a time base is used for integrating the error in a PID loop? I'm just guessing here, so what I'm saying might not make any sense.
dreamersk - YES! You get education, you get fun, and you get satisfaction. What could be more rewarding than that!?
By the way, I looked at your user profile, and it shows that you registered on April 29, 2014, which was less than 3 years ago. So, why do you say that you have been using Algodoo for 5 years?
Not a good idea to lock the camera zoom and pan positions when Algodoo is not running because that prevents a person from exploring the scene and editing things. It's better to place your code that affects Zoom, pan, and playmode in the update property of one of the objects in the scene. For example: update = {e}=> {app.gui.playMode = sim.running} will automatically enable/disable playMode based on whether or not Algodoo is running. You can do a similar thing with camera zoom and pan.
I think that both you guys are correct to a degree. It's true that Algobox (this website) is a lot different than it was a few years ago before Algodoo (the physics simulation program that runs on your computer) became free of any cost. Since then, Algobox has been overrun with children of different age groups from toddlers (5 to 7 years old) to early teens. I think the average age of children here is around 10 or 11. The good news is, there are still some "older" users (like me) who stick around because they enjoy the almost limitless capabilities of Algodoo, which allows them to create all kinds of interesting scenes which they share with other like-minded users. The number of those kind of people has dwindled over the years, but there are still enough of us here who keep the scenes interesting, entertaining, and educational. The kid's simple scenes bother me too, but I do my best to ignore them as much as possible. Unfortunately for me, I cannot ignore them completely because it's my job as Admin to watch over the scenes and comments to make sure that the rules are not being violated.
My love for Algodoo outweighs my dislike of the juvenile scenes, and that's what keeps me here!
