You should set the friction of the wood at the start to 0, because the ragdoll usually stops his journey at that point.

Fire in the ho-BOOM!-(explodes in hand)

To make the ragdolls float you click on a ragdolls body and go to ''Geometry Controller...''
Then set the ''Controller menu'' to a,w,s,d (or arrows) and set ''Controller Acceleration'' to about 60.
You can do that with anything and make your own stuff.
