What do you mean by "forces"? There are a few things that can be measured and the values used for other things, such as, linear velocity, angular velocity, X & Y position, acceleration, and maybe a couple of others. By scaling the measured value so that it covers the proper range of the colored geometry, you can have the colors become an indicator of the force.
Yoshinator - Please understand that some of the people who have been complaining about you have been here on Algobox for a long time, often a year or longer. And when a new guy comes along and starts posting a lot of scenes over a short time period, then what happens is your scenes will push all others to the bottom of the display page where no one will see them. Of course the people get upset about that! So, in order to keep the peace we ask that you post no more than 3 or 4 scenes per day, which is actually a lot. No one wants you to be unhappy, but those same people don't want YOU to make THEM unhappy by your posting too many scenes!
Ravenplucker has only 39 scenes posted since March 2009, but they are some of the most amazing contraptions in the entire Algobox archives! Absolutely incredible!
Aaron8205 - Actually, that was an old rule. A few months ago Emanuel (who makes the rules for Algobox) told me that message scenes are Okay for making announcements. And so, I have to allow them. But we do not allow ALL kinds of messages, only certain ones. For example, we do not allow users to chat with each other through scene messages. And of course we do not allow profanity, threatening other users, or buying/selling stuff on Algobox. If a user wants to tell all of his friends that he/she will be on vacation for three months, then that type of message is Okay to post.
griggy - Yes, I knew that, but at the time I did not know how to correct it. Over time I am learning more about how to display simulated 3D on a 2D surface. I still have a lot to learn!
Anbang11 - What are you talking about? The question you asked makes no sense because The Mechanic did not post any scenes at all, and he especially was not asking about posting "question" scenes. I hope that you are not going to cause trouble by accusing another user of doing something that he did not do!
Just so you guys know, this spinner is not a game by itself. My intention for it was that it could be used in other people's scenes in which a spinner of this kind could be used for randomly selecting numbers 1 through 10. Just because you "got a ten" (or any other number) doesn't mean anything. It is just a random number generator!
@FRA32 - Yes, of course random numbers can be generated with Thyme script, but that's not the intent of this scene. The intent is to provide a ready-made spinner wheel that people can use in their own scenes for simulating the spinner in games such as "Wheel Of Fortune" and other similar types of games that use a mechanical spinner to select numbers, currency, or prizes.
@Phun User & InsertNameHere - Please don't start trouble. We have to tolerate the marble race and camp children until Emanuel makes some changes and improvements to Algobox. Then, hopefully, we won't have to deal with them any longer.
While thinking about bell cranks and how they function, I realized that a simple rope and pulley arrangement could achieve the same result in many cases.
BUT..... You cannot push a rope! So, a rope and pulley will only work the same as a bell crank as long as you only need to pull, and not push. Of course, if you need to push, then you would need a rigid rod on both the input and the output of the bell crank. (I'm still thinking! lol)
s_noonan - I thought for sure that you would be the first one to figure it out! Well, I'll just try to come up with some more puzzles and secret messages.
zaydenm - YES! You are correct. I did misspell the word "Awesome". Unfortunately, the spell check portion of the software cannot possibly know that the word was misspelled because of the way in which the word was generated using stacked Algodoo boxes!
Thanks for pointing that out! (I guess Xray's spelling abilities are not so awesome)
