I don't know what's the name of this kind of... Uhm... Gears? Rotors?

It has a simple function of converting one full rotation of "gear 1" into one, shorter 90 degree "step" of second gear. It takes four revolutions of gear 1 for one revolution of 2nd gear.

It can be modified by adding more rods to increase number of steps per revolution.

Nicely made :tup: something similar is used in 35mm movie projectors, in that aplication it was called an intermittant sprocket but I know there is another propper name for the mechanism but it excapes me now :unsure:
It's called a geneva stop:P
