Hello! I'm back from my hiatus once again. This time, I bring you an oldtimer-style car I made between these three days! I'm too lazy to make a new track so I'll reuse the one I made before lol
It has a really peculiar transmission, I made it so it behaves like a Ford model T transmission, but with levers!
CONTROLS:
Enter: ignition (brake/release engine)
Left/right: less/more throttle
1-2: move backward/forward the gear lever
Q-W: mobe backward/forward the reverse gear lever
S: Brakes
How to start the vehicle:
Turn on the ignition with (ENTER), use the drag tool (D) and turn the crank at the front of the car clockwise. You might need to give it a little gas just after the engine starts moving because it has it hard to completely turn on at such low RPM. Don't be afraid to give it a couple of complete spins!
How to operate the vehicle:
You want to treat the lever as a more realistic clutch. You got to give the engine a little gas (a bit over 1000rpm is more than enough) and then with the (2) key you'll start moving the lever slowly forwards. Be careful because it has a threshold and a final position so you might stall the engine if you go too fast. After you reach about 30km/h you might switch to second gear by pulling the lever backwards with the (1) key, and give it a little more gas. Engine may get really low on rpm but unless you're on a steep you have nothing to worry about.
For steeps you might need to switch to first gear and floor the gas pedal because this transmission is not really that good. You might also need to get some distance to gain speed and really climb the steep.
Reverse gear is pretty limp so it may not work properly for most things, but it operates more like an engage rather than a clutch, with (W) you engage it and with (Q) you disengage it. Make sure to check it is properly disengaged before getting your car to move forward again!
If you zoom out you'll see detailed images on how the crank operates and the approximate position on of both gears.
Beware that the second gear may slip if you pull the lever way backwards so you'll have to keep an eye on the rpm gauge. You'll get used to the transmission pretty soon, don't worry! Reload the scene one or two times if you need to.
Beware of the bridge, you might need to put reverse gear a little bit and get some speed before crossing it if you go too slow around that part.
I'm pretty happy on how this car turned out to be! I have to thanks Little for the script on the lights!

I hope you enjoy the ride!
EDIT: fixed an issue with the engine in Algodoo 2.2.1
