want to capture the dynamics of a runner! having trouble with
the balancing /self correcting! i know the presence of arms would
help counter balance but any suggestions on a self balancing mechinism
for this? best solution wins a prize!! lol;)
found a flywheel thingy!! thank to whoever it was! lol hes balancing now but now walks like
john cleeseon acid!! lol

UPDATE!!!
I need to salvage something from this failing project!!:(
then it came to me in a flash of inspiration!!!:)
i could use this clumsey oaf of a contraption in a sequel to mad mick's
beer drinking game!!...wait for it....

well done 10/10
You can't really create a self balancing system with only mecanism:/ so make it really stable and it can't work
10 ducks out of 10
very nice project 8/10
Looks good. I'll give you a real rating.

Check out Running Man.

thanks mister noonan!! dam! youve already done one! your running man is excatly what i wante to achieve! lol i cant belive how simple it is! when i examined it in a mechanical sense there is nothing to it! i raelly am missing out with this scripting! i gotta look into it! anyway 10 outta 10! reckon theres a mecahnical way of balancing him? i know script is more advance but i think theres something romantic about doing it mechanichally. ill use invisible supports if need be but want him to keep himself up!
Scripting is not "more advanced", it's just useful and harder to learn than mechanical thingys. It's very useful but you need a lot of time to grasp theessentials, then when you have a minimal idea of what's going on, you can try and use scripting

The only way you dould do that with no scripting is making the body impossible to rotate, but that's unrealistic :/ if you wanna try that you have to go to the script menu, find inertiaMultiplier and put +inf there (i don't consider that a script since you would be able to change it if it was on the interface).

Another way involves Thyme and is the same mechanism that some satellites and such use. You make a circle with some mass rotate according to the angle the guy has, so if he's falling face-first, the circle would spin clockwise and the body would get oriented, spinning counterclockwise. this is very realistic on machines
thanks mister linkage!! yea i found a flywheel thing on some guys contraption! been playing round with it on the runner! hes balancing ill give hime that! but he looks like a crack head on ice!! lol
Q: Reckon theres a mecahnical way of balancing him?
A: Yes, but I'm not sure how.

Regarding "i know script is more advance", I'm not sure if that's true, since many times it takes more creativity and understanding to create a purely mechanical solution.

Regarding "theres something romantic about doing it mechanichally", I usually find the purely mechanical solutions more interesting than the code/mech hybrids (Take Ravenplucker's scenes for example).
will check him out....
cool! i want that!
please?
