Are you the new miller? Nice to meet you! You picked the right moment to mill here, its very windy out here!

I will give you some basic instruction how to interact with this mill type:

As you can see we have a higher and lower wheat field. So we have to let the water flow between the fields to gain a good wheat production.
At the sides of the Watermill shed you'll see sluice-gates. You have to open them by moving weights into the hanging bowls. In the Windmill shaft there is a big lever. Having the lever at the left side, te water flow will be to the right side, changing it will also change the direction of the water flow.

Nicely done scene. The artwork is excellent, and the mechanical gears and other devices were nicely made. The one thing that I see is not quite realistic is the fact that the windmill is turning while the wind speed is zero! I don't mean to be picky, but for the sake of realism, shouldn't the windmill only turn when the wind is blowing? :s

I suggested get rid of borders on the last one, but this is still awesome anyway. 10
@Xray

A Windmill does not work as you think in Algodoo. The Aerodynamics are too unrealistic.
It is so interesting and I see that every little thing's art style is absolute accomplished!

10/10 !:)
pnvv: I like the borders.. So its up to you to remove them:) Without the borders some effects (like with wooden beams) will have less space in the 3D feeling id like to create (for how far I can go with that) Though its just a feeling, and ofcourse its all just suggestions.
I like art style a lot, but dont tell me how a windmill works:P with all respect, I know, but I also know I can not manage that in Algodoo. So If you can do better, please, be my guest and fix it for me!
I assume you are addressing me. No, I cannot do better. Your scenes are some of the best on Algobox! Your incredible detail is amazing, and I just thought that if it were possible, that adding wind to the scene would make it just a little more true to life. I think that I can turn a windmill with Algodoo wind, but it would take some time and Thyme (pun intended!).

I don't want to mess around with your awesome scene, but what I will do is make a "proof of concept" scene to see if I can realistically turn a windmill with Algodoo wind. If it seems like it will work, then you can copy what I did if you want to for use in your own scenes. It may take a few days because of my workload, but I will give it a try!
Nick_22 - Here is my example scene for spinning a windmill with Algodoo wind!

Windmill Example
Waaw Xray, thats great! I hope you dont mind, iI use your scrip and change some of your artwork to give it a try!

The only think Im scared for is that I dont like that the wind will be blowing alle the other loose objects of my mill house
Unfortunately, that's what happens in real life! ;)

Go ahead and use any parts or all of my scene. I did it specifically for you!
If you don't want the other bits of your windmill to be affected by the wind, then just put airfrictionmult = 0 on everything except the windmill blades ;)
Good point, pnvv!
This is getting me somewhere guys!
I fixed also a brake system on the next update, and the reverse mechanism works with weights too. I hope to upload it with the wind power add.
how can I add script to water?
Well that's a problem... you can't add scripts to water
True, you cannot add scripts to water, BUT you can change some of water's properties through scripts that reside in geometries. s_noonan created a scene that demonstrates the many properties of Algodoo water that can be changed:

An other question.. I added some more functions to the windmill, but Its in an other file,.. How can I overwrite this one and put it online?
Copy the URL you see up in the integrated Algobrowser, open your web browser (firefox, chrome or whatever else) and paste it there. Log in on the upper right corner and then click on "Edit"

Screenshot
Where you see The Linkage it should appear for you to put the username and password. After you log in you can edit the scene and the file, and it's pretty straightforward ;)

If I were you I'd upload it as a separate file if you did a big change though...
No one will see the change as this scene has been a lot of time here already, and it'll probably go to the marble race trashbin in no time
thanks:)
me not shoing the wildmill
