Thanks for the reply faytree. I assume by your comment that you tried AlgoSound out. I assume by your past comment in Sounds in Algodoo! that you probably used the Python version.

Regarding 'Btw, I realized that the "tone" code didn't work', It works OK for both versions (Python and vbScript) on my Win10 PC. Here are some reasons it might not work on your machine:

1. The sound is set too low. The examples use sound set to 5 (out of 100) because they were quite loud compared to the other sounds on my machine. Try scene.my.playSound("tone,500,550,5,100", 0) or scene.my.playSound("tone,440,444,10,100", 1).

2. If you are using Python, then it might be your numpy version. I'm running Python 3.6 and I'm using the latest versions of pygame and numpy that run on Python 3.6.

3. If you are using the latest versions of Python and numpy, and using a Mac OS, then maybe I made a mistake somewhere with case sensitivity.
This has to be one of the most advanced mechanisms in Algobox. I rated this earlier but was at a loss for words._o_
No, since I never heard of soundfonts until you mentioned it. Sounds like a good idea. I'll look into it.

Soudfonts may be a good method of generating revving engine sounds.
Nice work. I like how everything fits so perfectly together.
I'm not making any promises, but could you recommend a good free soundfont player. Regarding "soundfonts location and name", are you referring to the soundfont's location on the hard drive or its location on the web?
Ok. I read up on soundfonts and MuseScore and listened to examples on Youtube. MuseScore looks like an impressive program, judging from the results on Youtube. I wont be adding sf2 capability to AlgoSound anytime soon. In my opinion it would be like adding lipstick to a pig (the pig being AlgoSound). On my PC the midi keyboard scene is relatively slow to respond to mouse clicks and all the notes are of equal duration. I could probably change the note duration to be the amount of time a key is down, but I would only know the time after the key goes up, which means it couldn't play in real time.
Regarding the "Swinger" logo, somehow I couldn't wrap my mind around the car going right to left, so I just mirrored it. I had the factory guy fix it.

Regarding Algodoo sound, it took me longer than I would like to admit to write the programs. The two programs were the first vbScript and Python programs I wrote, so I had to look almost everything up. vbScript wasn't too bad because I have done a lot of VB6 and vba programming. Python is a nice language to program in. It requires substantially less lines of code than other languages to accomplish the same tasks. Use the vbScript if you have windows, since that requires the least amount of effort to install.
FYI. If you ever feel like playing with a good free Arduino microcontroller simulator, try out tinkercad circuits. A good free electronics simulator can be found here.
Nice work. I liked your color coding so much that I used it in my midi keyboard scene, which worked out well, since I noticed that my color coding wasn't working as intended. Maybe that was your big plan all along.
xRay,

I used your image and idea with a slightly different twist. If you don't like it, then I will remove it.
There was actually a parking lot in front of this scene that was causing thermal updrafts since "sun was hot that day" and that was lifting the snow. As a side note, that kid should not be outside sleeveless. Unfortunately his mom is with Parson Brown, who is "doing the job" while he's in town.

P.S.

from the song "Winter Wonderland"...

"In the meadow we can build a snowman
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say: Are you married?
we'll say: No man
But you can do the job
when you're in town"

Good to hear from you wild bill. I saw that you were upgrading some of your scenes, but I did not comment on them. At any rate, I appreciate your effort and I like your asteroid construction.
Xray,

I deleted the scene so I could make a cheap imitation that sort of looks like your scene (sort of like I did with my Algodoo4Engineering website that nobody knows about until now). At any rate, the "improved" snow globe scene is now back up.
Nice work.

That was my big plan (to make it work like Jocob's ladder).
Nice work. This will be useful.
Good work.

Xray,

Good idea. Maybe next year I will do that.

wild bill,

Thanks. Same to you.

nilsthegeman,

Me too.
Nice concept and implementation.
Like Xray said.
Nice work.

You may ... by sim.frequency.

I'm impressed by how you made a piston out of the 2 X 128 pixel texture. I took me a while to figure it out and I'm not sure if I could create it from scratch if I needed to.

Good to hear from you. Happy holidays to you too.
Question: Is screen-shot tutorial/guide "understand-able"?
Answer: Yes, very well done.
Nice work. I like your style. All this with a file size less than 100 kB.
I had looked at and rated your bulldozer, but did not look at the track detail until now. Nice work. I had assumed much more complex operation before disassembling the track.

We appreciate the gift, but you may want to rename this scene in order to make it easier for users to find. I suggest calling it a hydraulic cylinder or linear actuator.

P.S. I noticed that when you plot the speed of the rod circle, the plotted speed is incorrect. There is nothing to fix, since it appears that that the plot is wrong and the rod speed is correct.
Xray,

Sorry about deleting the scene while you were commenting. Hopefully it wasn't a long story. I deleted it because the track did not scale well, and then I went to work. To scale the track, glue everything to the background, scale uniformly, start and stop the scene, then loosen everything once.

Nice work. You are the master of building strong stuff. You need to fix the weight. The left chain hinge is connecting the weight to ground instead of connecting the chain to the weight.
Q: Do you have FB account?
A: No, but you can check out Algodoo4Engineering for consolation.

The crane looks great and works flawlessly.
