Those must be anti-gravity snowflakes because they go UP as well as DOWN! Weird!

There was actually a parking lot in front of this scene that was causing thermal updrafts since "sun was hot that day" and that was lifting the snow. As a side note, that kid should not be outside sleeveless. Unfortunately his mom is with Parson Brown, who is "doing the job" while he's in town.
