@ Xray: 1.: a solution could be, that you or other admins could delete EVERY marble race scene that is not declared in that special group. Then they will learn very quick how to use that function!
2.: We really should try to convince Algoryx or even Emil for supporting us again or at least sell the rights of Algodoo to Someone that would support us with real and continous updates!
Nobody of us adults want to interact with those marble scenes but the spam liike frequency they are posted distract people from our complex scenes. They also displace these from the front page of new scenes and only THAT is the point! We can't ignore that anymore, and we tried to ignore it since years for now!
I totally agree with faytree - especially with those different results on different computers (often at the same computer, too - just try to play the scenes multiple times - you will get different results!)
When I and other experienced users upload a new scene,
it always gets displaced by the high frequently uploaded marble races/algicosathlons from the Algobox "New"-scenes frontpage very quickly.
It is too chaotic at all.
My suggested solution:
Perhaps you could split the "New" section into two separate sections.
One section for little social-like games made by kids or playful adults like marble races, algicosathlons, etc..
(---Matches---)
And the other section for more serious and complex scenes made by adults or even smart kids.
Nice opinion, I totally agree! But nevertheless we have to split Algobox (especially the "New" and the "Popular" sections) into "Matches" and "Advanced" scenes.
of course! if a marble race is at high quality - then even such can be a part of the advanced scenes. But the practical problem is: How could we define the exact differences - where is the "edge" between a low-Q MR and a high-QP?
or even try to use real hq textures for all parts including marbles...
look at the hq marbles I've made.
(Not the Newton Cradles... )
But nobody payd attention...
