"Dear Emanuel,
You may know what seems to happen right now. The rate of marble and spammy scenes seemed to increasing and this thing will disturb other users like us.
So my suggestion was to make another web( a.k.a divide Algobox into two ):
One side is for Advanced and Experienced users
And another side is for children to have fun with their marble races

I hope that you'll read and reply to my suggestion,
Thanks!"

REMINDER: Please do not chat with each other in these comments! Direct your questions and suggestions to Emanuel.

BTW - Emanuel did some things to this scene in order to make it a "sticky". That's why you see strange numbers such as 1,000,000 ratings. Now, please do not discuss THAT here!

Thanks!

I think that the genre of marble races can be better maybe they can maybe add a few players but just on one computer because you do not know who would win so i think they should do that to make it more fun.
Dear Emanuel Dahlberg,

My complaint is:

When I and other experienced users upload a new scene,
it always gets displaced by the high frequently uploaded marble races/algicosathlons from the Algobox "New"-scenes frontpage very quickly.
It is too chaotic at all.

My suggested solution:

Perhaps you could split the "New" section into two separate sections.

One section for little social-like games made by kids or playful adults like marble races, algicosathlons, etc..

(---Matches---)

And the other section for more serious and complex scenes made by adults or even smart kids.

(---Advanced---)

My Question: Is that generally doable?
Dear Emanuel Dahlberg,

I think the problem is all of us (me included) for having different opinions on things. A way of solving this problem is Algodoo v2.1.1, meaning a new agreement for new users of algobox, as well as those who already have algobox. The introduction of 5 strikes and stricter rules (banning profanity, sexual harassment, other forms of abuse against the rules) can stop all sorts of digital wars. Scenes which deface other users or non users should also be banned by its content or reports. I strongly hope these suggestions are put into actions to make a happier algobox.

Your sincerely,
Fiatfan123 (Windows95se)
I think splitting algobox into two sides is a great idea. It allows people to choose whether they want marble races or a simulation of a mechanism (or similar).
Harry, DontTellHarry1701 doesn't like marble races.

All my comments/complaints/suggestions are in that "Important Announcement" scene I posted a little while ago.

Also, I think Xray hacked the rating system...
Well i don,t know is this a good idea........
Reason Some of small users maybe friends with the big users..
i honestly do think that it is time for the marble races to leave. not only is it clogging up the new section, but it is in no way an "physics" scene. but i definitely agree to add a new "marble race" section to algobox.

Like others are saying, i would like categories in the Algobox, the categorizes could be: Vehicles, Marble races, Engineering, Weapons, Scrips etc.
Or to make it simple: Effort, No effort.
(I am not in ANY groups of fighting and this is JUST a question)
Dear Emanuel Dahlberg,
I have written this comment Because i have a question that could affect all the Camps around Algodoo. People who would like to make a camp wouldn't be able to make it. Comments are need for this and it leads to my question. Are comments going to be disabled Permanently or Temporarily. You did not mention if they were. It might sound like a "Bad" or "Irrelevant" Question to the low IQ's (Not trying to be rude). Its just a simple question i am hoping you will answer to.

Question(Again so you don't forget it) : Will the Comments be Disabled Permanently or Temporarily?
I personally think that when you make a level, it gives you an option to either select it as:
A. Algodoo Experiments (Little physics tests and more)
B. Random Fun (Just any silly little levels you created)
C. Marble/Stickman Related Things (Algicosathlons, Marble Races)
D. Little Games (Show off your Algodoo skills with little fun games and more)
E. Other (If it doesn't seem to fit into any of these categories, choose this one)

And when you search for things, you can tick which ones you want to come up, so when you want to look at marble races, you tick that box and search stuff up, etc.

This will stop the people who want to use Algodoo for more science-y things look through tons of marble races. Marble Race Makers can make as many as they like without people complaining of spam.
There are probples with the Popular System:
1.Algogathons and marble runs are easy populars(thats why I don't do them)
2. Why no catagorize the scene like Runtoastrun sais, but on the other option, you can custom it
3. If a scene mentions the word Algogathon and marble race, it should be put in a Algogathon/Marble race popular page so that other players can have a chance of getting their saves on the Populars who actually made saves that DESERVED it(I admit there are good marble races put many-many people put in mechanics that slow down the marbles or make it unreasonably wrong...
Also, I know this is out of topic
But we REALLY need some in-depth tutorial for thyme because the way I learnt was from experimenting and copying/studying scripts from other scenes.
One More things
A classics/honor-hall section, I noticed that some players who are no longer playing this game made nothing but AWESOME saves like Ravencrow/Ravenplucker(check other RavenCrow's cukoo clock!) should deserve some honor. Also the people who helped start off algodoo with HIGH-quality saves and not just "algogathons/marble races" (Just click on the new tab and scroll down to the the page selection tab. Click on the biggest number to see the first few saves of algodoo! )
Can we be able to rate on the integrated browser, I noticed that few players rate scenes today.
To Marble Race/Algogathon:
Make it awesome instead of having some sort of "lotter device" that delays the WHOLE race. Learn thyme! Innovate! tip: use scene.cam.zoom/scene.cam.pan!
I think that the best solution would be implementing the "CATEGORY" in the integrated uploader/browser, and making it necessary to be able to upload a scene (like the title and description). Then, there should be an option to filter scenes (like checkboxes for each type...?)

Also it'd be nice to have a search option in the integrated browser. It's a little bit of a headache as it is now (having to copy the URL and rating from another browser)

This is going offtopic! Keep the topic!

EDIT: I posted just what Runtoastrun said :D

@quiantkbw123 - Your comment was deleted because you did not bother to read or understand the text in the scene. This is not for suggesting new functions or changes to Algodoo.

@Shaun19004 - Your comment was deleted because you ignored my rule about not chatting with other users or replying to their comments here. Please direct your comments to Emanuel.

@DontTellHarry1701 - Your comments were deleted because they are nonsensical and have nothing to do with the subject matter. Please do not post comments if you have nothing intelligent to contribute.

@tomskiwomski - Same comment to you as I said to DontTellHarry1701. This has nothing to do with adding a musical theme tune to Algodoo. (*facepalm*)

TO ALL USERS WHO'S COMMENTS WERE DELETED, AND TO ALL USERS WHO ARE CONSIDERING POSTING COMMENTS: PLEASE READ ALL OF THE TEXT IN THE SCENE. IN SHORT, THIS IS NOT ABOUT MAKING SUGGESTIONS FOR TECHNICAL CHANGES OR IMPROVEMENTS TO ALGODOO. IT IS ABOUT SUGGESTING WHAT WE CAN DO TO EASE THE TENSION AND FLAME WARS BETWEEN VARIOUS SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS HERE ON ALGOBOX.

Dear Emanuel Dahlburg,
It is quite sad seeing such a beautiful community fighting over something as nonsensical as interests. I do believe there should be sections based on different interests. It is rather frustrating having to see the same marble style sceen 52 times just to see one of say...a firearms mechanism or a new motor type. This will be almost entirely eliminated if these sections were to be adeed.

Sincerely,
Doublefs
I realize the algodoo maybe in a state of rebirth.
We all have to learn that noobs have to be welcome in teh community.
But spammers should be downvoted.
and that QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
Remember when YOU were a noob.
I am asking that the rating system to be integrated to the algobox that is integrated to algodoo so that people can vote on saves.
THE ANSWER IS DEMOCRACY!!!!
Split it into two algoboxes.

One for the children/other people to do fun stuff like marble races and one for the people doing serious work and showing it off. That's MY Suggestion
Im simply tired of seeing the same old thing on all the pages except the "new" tab. I would like a front page system similar to the powder toy's that limits the amount of time something can be on FP (or, in this case, the "popular" tab)
Well, before asking too much, I'd like to know to what extent Algobox will be changed. I think that splitting Algobox would be a lot of work, and implementing a TPT-like system would be hard (but awesome ;) )
No Splitting! dividing algodoo would be fatal to the community!
Just make it easier to rate saves so we can ALL decide if it is spam or not.
Implementing a TPT system would require an Algodoo-wide change...
I noticed that no one ever uses the rating system in algodoo:(\
We need voters. ALgodoo is becoming like an America-Without-Voting!
I have a good idea, instead of just the rating thing, if a scene gets reported more than 5 times for a reason such as "Spam" or "Marble race/Algicosathlon" it gets moved to a seperate section for those spam and marble race/algicosathlon scenes! Even though not EVERY scene may make it there, it will surely cut down the ammount of spam scenes and such in the NEW section which will increase the ammount of good scenes actualy getting spotted and praised
I think that the ability to filter the Algobox home page may help alleviate the problem. If I go to the "Search" page and don't enter any search criteria and sort by date, descending, then I get the equivalent of the home page. If I were able to exclude scenes with certain words ("marble" for instance), then I would get to see what I am most interested in. Marble racers, on the other hand, could include all scenes with the word "marble".

If the home (or Search) page was bookmarked, then it would save the search criteria with it. If you give the Search page utility the ability to exclude certain words, then that would be good enough for me.

P.S. The "Marble races" category is not working out too well, seeing that there are only 91 scenes in that category while there are over 3000 marble scenes outside that category.

Okay, this is a setup I learned from forums:
Categories!
So, a category for mechanical stuff, marble race/algicosathlon, physics, a forum with scenes, etc.
And, also:
If people are annoyed by a scene (for me, all the complaint scenes, though that will change), it should be deleted!
What is it about my very simple rules that people either do not understand or they choose to ignore? I have deleted 22 comments so far because of people chatting with other people, which I very clearly said NOT TO DO! Sometimes I feel like I'm watching over a bunch of children in a Daycare Center. :bonk:
Thanks for answering my question even though it was deleted

Anyway, Maybe Algodoo can check the name of the scene and put that into categories
It finds key words, and puts them in category
Any thing that does not have key words will be put in a Misc. section

It may take a lot of programming, but it may be easier,

Thanks Alasmyfoe
Let people pay again for this game. When it was a paid game all was more fun...
Dear Emanuel,
I think there should be 3 algoboxes:
One for Advanced Physics Scenes
One for Marble Race/ Algicosathlon scenes
One for Other scenes (none that seen to fit in those categories, such as tower buildings and ragdoll showcases)
The home page should be customized to the user. Look at YouTube, it tracks what you look at and then makes suggestions. I don't like the fact that it tracks your selections, but still it's a lot better than looking at every single YouTube video listed in reverse chronological order. YouTube allows you to search by using Boolean "+" and "-" operators. "Categories" won't fix the problem. Only 3% of the marble race scenes are in the Marble race category. Scenes you don't want to look at are just "noise". A search filter can block that noise. At a very minimum, the Algobox Search page should allow Boolean searches.
