If you are referring to the scene titled "Barf bag", I deleted it because it was a blank scene that had no added components. That happens a lot to people who upload scenes from iPad. That version of Algodoo has some software bugs that Algoryx plans to fix soon.
Caught by whom?
What backroom scene?
Sorry, I have no idea what you are talking about. :s
My home? :s

You're probably too young to know this but that is called a Craps table. Craps is a game they play in casinos such as the ones in Las Vegas or Atlantic City. No one "lives" in a Craps table as far as I know.
No, I'm not insane, except when Algobox users ask me weird questions. Also, I'm not a script. I'm a real person. Just ask my wife. Wait... on second thought, don't ask her!
I have a headache. :bonk:
Doing laundry is fun? My wife tries to convince me of that but I'm not buying it!
I think it would be a good idea for you to show an example of how your animation engine is actually used. Maybe create and upload a scene that shows all the things that it can do!
Sure, Little, that would be Okay. The kind of thing that we want to avoid are people using scenes to chat with each other. That can happen when scenes are posted that ask for votes, guessing games, surveys (what's your favorite marble color), and those sorts of things because they can get out of control.

Thanks for asking!
Hello Xhernull. I'm still here.
During my cursory "seat of my pants" testing I found that "coded", "Linkage-3", and maybe "Linkage-5" performed better than the others. The others were either non-linear throughout their travel and/or they had noticeable backlash. "Coded" is the most economical (of course) because of it needing fewer components than the others.

Question: Are you working on a design that would be an improvement over any in this group?
Just having some fun with ya!
What is the purpose of this scene? Is it a game? :s
I check every scene to make sure that they don't violate the rules.
Thanks Valen. :)
Thanks!
Nice work, CPJchute! You are a very talented coder.
@kalajelo -- You said: "...springs backpropegate when you hook them up in a certain way"

That is sort of true. It depends on which endpoint that you place in your scene first. The first endpoint becomes endpoint(0) and the second one becomes endpoint(1). It's not really back-propagating. It's just that your code will transfer data in a direction dependent on which endpoint you place first. I don't know any way around that except to write your code based on knowing which endpoint is (0) and which is (1).

The reason why these glitches happen is because you are attempting to assign the value infinity (plus or minus) in ways that make no sense. Infinity is not a number. It is a concept that defines any numeric value that is so large (or so small in the case of negative infinity) that it is not countable and therefore cannot be used in the physical world. In the make-believe world of computer simulation, we can assign the value of + or - infinity to objects but the software can only deal with them in a manner that was decided upon by the programmer (aka, coder). In some cases assigning infinity to simulated objects will cause glitches, instabilities, or even computer crashes in worst-case scenarios.

Hey, ngphil, glad to see you back here on Algobox!
This is cool, but I'm more interested in 3D simulations. Any chance you might show off what you've learned by posting some cool 3D animated scenes? (fingers crossed):)
There seems to be a problem. As soon as I run the sim, all chess pieces disappear and only some weird pattern remains on each piece. Does anyone else have this problem? :s
@ 42flowermaster -- I haven't spent much time with it yet, but so far it looks correct. Good job!
Great question!
s_noonan - I'm fairly certain that the "x" indicates capture. For example "Na2xb5" means Knight on a2 captured the piece on b5.
Great idea. I'll find out if that is even possible without a complete rebuild of the website.
Thanks!

Question: Clarify?

Answer: You stated that you have been learning 3D animation. So, I was hoping that you could put that knowledge to use here on Algobox by creating one or more simple scenes that demonstrate simulated 3D animations on Algodoo which, as you know, has only 2D capabilities. I have posted a few scenes that demonstrate 3D animations (e.g., rolling/bouncing balls) but they are far from what they could be if I knew the proper techniques and equations for displaying 3D images on a 2D display. Of course if you don't want to do that for any reason, I will respect your decision.

Thanks!
Thank you!

Q: How Did You Make This?

A: That's kinda like asking someone "How did you build your house?"

Well, the short version is, I have been playing around with trying to make 3D looking and behaving objects in Algodoo for the past few years. So, to do that in this scene, I first imagined what the ball would look like and how it would behave if it really did role down a real-life hilly road. I knew that as distant objects get closer to the observer, they appear to get bigger. So, I had to find a way to simulate the ball moving closer to me without actually moving closer. I did that by increasing the size of the ball as it moved from the top of the hill to the bottom. The only way it can actually move is from a high point on the displayed screen to a lower point. Since it starts out relatively small and it grows larger as it moves DOWN, it appears like it's moving CLOSER to the observer (ME). I used some Thyme script to make the ball roll though it's meandering pattern down the road and then shoot back up again to repeat the motion. So, that is basically how I made it.

No problem! As long as you only use your current account, then you will not get banned.

If you tell me what your old account names are, I can make certain that they cannot be used by banning them. Then you won't ever worry about them again.

Thanks for asking!

Oh, by the way, concerning your comment about contacting the Admin, yes this is the only way for now. When the Algodoo Forum was active 12 or 13 years ago, people contacted each other though the Private Messaging system. But, people no longer use the Forum except for learning about Algodoo and Thyme scripting. I have been in contact from someone at Algoryx (the company that owns this website) about adding some kind of messaging system here on Algobox, but I don't think that will happen. :(

Go to Google search, enter the kind of image you are looking for, and click on "images" in the upper right corner before you click the search icon.
