MoBuilds -- Here is his reply to your questions: "We are working on a new version of Algodoo with support for more memory, however, VRAM is the graphics card memory, not the computer memory. Currently Algodoo is limited to 2 GB usage of computer memory on Windows (since it is a 32-bit application)."
He was not able to give me a timeline because Algoryx employees are busy working on new products and maintaining their current products. Algodoo is a freebee and so, understandably, they do not assign high priority to it.
VankaGaming -- Thank you for your report. Here is my reply to you:
1. There are many thousands of scenes in the Algobox archive, and because of that fact, it is impossible for me to determine who the original scene creator was. For example, this scene that you claim was copied from someone else may have been copied by 10 or 15 other people! Sometimes only parts of a scene gets copied and uploaded. Then someone else might copy that modified scene and upload it as their own.
2. You claim that user Karl0z is a "hacker" who copies scenes and other people's comments. I see no evidence of that.
3. In your report you wrote "PLEASE BAN HIM". In the future, please don't tell me to ban people. I will decide who gets banned and who doesn't by determining if they violated the Algobox rules. If you want to report other users, that's okay but leave the decision to ban or to warn them up to me.
Hi... I realize this is your first scene and you have a lot to learn. So, here are a couple of friendly suggestions that will make any scene easier to use and more understandable by others.
1. Generally, it's helpful to show some instructions, especially for a technical scene like this one. Just because you (the scene creator) understands it, does not mean that everyone else does.
2. If your scene is a game, then explain what the game is about, what keys or mouse buttons control the player characters, and explain the basic strategy of how to play the game and what a player must do to win it.
VankaGaming -- Please stop accusing Karl0z of hacking and copying other scenes. This was his only scene, and I found no evidence that it was copied from someone else. If you continue to accuse him of such things, then YOU are the one who I will ban for causing trouble with your baseless accusations. I hope you won't force me to do that.
Cool_S -- Thanks for catching that! I deleted those things and updated the scene.
Explanation: While working on this scene, I thought it would be cool to make the user have to pass a science quiz in order to receive a hint. The idea came from those games that you download from the Play Store that make the user watch an ad video in order to get a hint. I decided not to do that because it would greatly complicate the scene, but I forgot to remove the quiz boxes.
I'm not what you would call a "gamer" and I'm older than most people here on Algobox (good excuses?) and so I think I did pretty well, considering all that. I made it past the first two levels, and now I am struggling terribly on the third level. My wife almost had to call 911 after I told her I'm going to smash my computer with my head! It's all your fault, 42flowermaster!! Please don't make any more impossible games, Okay?
Kidding aside, this is an awesome game, and you are an awesome game-maker!
Most people probably don't know that this type of snap-action device is used in so many mechanical and electrical products. It's used in temperature controls, tactile feedback for some keyboards, electrical switches, and even in hand-held "clickers" for alerting and training animals.
As an idea for this scene, maybe you can make a finished product with it such as an electrical switch, or just a simple clicker. The user presses and releases a button to make it change states.
Yes, it truly is grotesque! And some people like that kind of stuff. For example, I did a search on Algobox for the word "toilet" and up popped nearly 200 scenes about toilets! Talk about being grotesque!
Hello fronkin7896 -- I would be happy to answer an occasional question for you. Just write a comment in any of my scenes (like this one) and I will reply. Please understand that I cannot spend a lot of time training a person how to code with Thyme Script or that sort of thing.
The best way to do this is for you to create a scene and upload it. Even if it's not complete or it has lots of issues, that's Okay. I will download it and see if there are things you can do to improve it.
