xx_le pso -- I suggest that you settle down and stop being so demanding of other people. If you continue to make angry comments like *PUNCHES TABLE FAST*, you will very quickly get banned from Algobox. If you cannot treat people with respect, then you will no longer be welcome here. Do you understand what I am saying to you?
Thanks, I'm glad that you like it. My version works with the magic of Thyme Script but I hope someone else (maybe ngphil?) will make a different one that is mechanically correct.
I first learned of the 3-wire method for checking screw pitch about 20 years ago but never actually tried doing it that way because I took the easy way out and bought two sets of male and female thread gauge sets for metric and imperial threads. They work quickly and accurately. Anyway, great job on the scene (as usual)!
Just letting you know that you made a common mistake that many other people make when they create an Algodoo Chess game. You have the board positioned with the dark square in the right corner (as you face the board during game play). The right corner square must be the light (in this case white) color in order for the queen to be set up on her color and to the LEFT of the king. So, you just need to rotate the board by 90 degrees and readjust the positions of the Queens and Kings. Then people will be able to play a proper game of Chess!
The real answer is this: I don't find my images in tarnation. I use Google to search the Web for the images that I want for my scenes, I then use PaintShop Pro to edit them as needed and then I save them as .png files. PaintShop Pro is like PhotoShop but it's a lot cheaper and has a lot of nice features.
Just a couple of suggestions:
1. "Facility" (not Factility)
2. You have the script: app.gui.playMode = sim.running in PostStep, but it really should be put in upDate. upDate executes script regardless if the sim is running or not. So, the scene will automatically go back to EDIT mode when the sim is no longer running which is how it should be done.
Except for those two things, you did a great job on the scene!
It's just a convention that the Chess Federation (I think) came up with. The pieces need to be set up a certain way so that previous professional games can be replayed exactly as the original games. If pieces are set up differently, then previous games cannot be accurately replayed. The average person can play a game of chess with the queens on the wrong squares, but for championship games they have to be set up in a very specific manner.
I'm not a Chess Master (or anything even close to that). Just an average chess player who likes the game. So, when it comes to questions about custom chess pieces and moves, I really cannot be of much help to you. Sorry...
