That is because you brushed the bullet against the firing mechanism. There is a circle that is fixated to the bullet and also to a spring, the spring is connected to the back of the shell and the circle that is attached to the spring is also fixated to a box with the same collision menu as the circle. It is fired by an arm that kills the box, then the bullet, along with the circle hits the killer at the end of the barrel, the bullet does not contact this killer, but the circle does and is killed. If you brush the circle on the firing mechanism, it gets killed and it will not fire.
p.s for the record, the armalite ar-50 is a single shot rifle, not magazine fed, and it is loaded from the top of the receiver and not the bottom.

Ms paint would probably work though it is not ideal, if you have adobe photoshop that would work well, and if you have a Bamboo, Sumo paint would work nicely.
