Luezma -- You are correct about how attraction works in Algodoo, and it explains how the little flies swarm around and then stick to the clown, but it doesn't explain what makes the clown do its "shaking" motions as if it was trying to shake the flies off of it.

I think I'll give this another day or two, and then I will divulge some observations that I have made about that unusual movement. Hint: Even I do not fully understand why the clown circle acts the way it does. I discovered that strange motion accidentally while I was experimenting with the mass and attraction parameters of orbiting bodies.

Thanks for commenting!

EDIT: Luezma -- Your edited comment is correct! HOORAY, YOU WON THE PRIZE! Good job.

I will be posting a response scene to this one with the explanation.

UnityDogGaming04 -- No, my intention is never to insult people here on Algobox. Well, there may have been a couple of exceptions but those toward a couple of kids who consistently ignored my warnings, and they continued with the same behavior until I reached the point where I had no other choice but to ban them. I think I called them morons, or something like that. But based on the scenes and the comments that you have posted, you are obviously intelligent, and you care about posting quality scenes that are much more than just a simple marble race or Algoccathlon camp (or whatever the heck the kids call them). So, if I insulted you in any way, it was by accident and not intended.

I occasionally try to help others, especially when they ask for help, but I am not a full-time instructor. So, I might give you and others a technical tip now and then, but please don't expect me to "hold your hand" and carry you through every problem or issue that you might have. Your scenes are quite good, and I see that you have improved a lot over time. So, keep at it!
I connected the low capacity battery directly to a motor, and then I filled the connecting channels (wires) with yellow electrons. I did everything that's explained in your instructions but nothing happens. The battery and the motor do not turn. Why? :s
The scene was very well thought out. It looks "professional quality", and it functions flawlessly. Excellent job, overall, s_noonan.

Ever since I was a kid (about a few years ago) I was taught to adjust bicycle spokes by "pinging" them with a screwdriver or other metal object. When the tone of every spoke sounds identical, the spokes will be in perfect alignment and tension. Of course that method is not correct, but when you're a kid, you tend to believe anything that anyone tells you, especially when the person seems credible, and they make you believe that they are an "expert". Sometimes we learn things the hard way.

It's not just "very" laggy..... It's INSANELY laggy! :o I mean, it's so crazy laggy that the scene won't even run on my computer. If people start to complain about this scene, I will have to delete it. In the future, please don't make such laggy scenes. If a scene you are making turns out to be very laggy, then either work on it and try to reduce the lag, or just don't upload it, and work on something else. Thanks.

"chip technology"???? "multiple scripts and IF statements"???? You took what normally is a very simple thing to do (writing text characters to a geometry through a laser) and you made it more complicated than it needs to be. In fact, you really do not need lasers to write text so that it looks like a computer screen. Just use the command keys.isDown("keycode") for each text character. You can also use the onKey() function. Very simple! :)
That's not "walking". What you did is the same thing the kids do with their Algocathlon "athletes". That is, they make them ride a unicycle wheel, and make the wheel invisible. Yes, it sort of looks like walking, but it's really not the correct stride to emulate human bipedal motion. Others have tried to simulate natural walking and running with limited success. It's not an easy thing to do!

In my opinion, the most talented expert here on Algobox when it comes to animal and human walking and running is mori-d Take a look at some of his scenes, and you will then realize how difficult it is to simulate natural walking and running.

"The only way he could win would be to stop playing as soon as gets ahead." Show me a gambler who does that! (rhetorical statement). As soon as they begin to win a little, they rationalize that they are on a winning streak, and are compelled to continue gambling because they are due to hit the jackpot at any time. After they have lost their entire family fortune, including their house, their car, their wife, and the saddest thing of all, their dog, they may even attempt to take their own life. The people who usually lose the most are the ones who can afford it the least. Sad but true.

Anyhow, you must be reading my mind again (will you please stop doing that!!!). LOL. I actually was thinking about that Deck of Cards scene long before you mentioned it because I remembered that it has a randomizer which might be a perfect fit for this scene. I will take a look at it.

Thanks again.
Laggy? Such a simple design should not be at all laggy. Here is a Keyboard Decoder scene which I made a few years ago that can type and display the entire English alphabet without any lag at all. It was made with lasers because I made it before the keys.isDown feature was available.

I doubt that Algoryx would allow such a thing.
You have a serious mental malfunction. Do your parents know how sick you are?
I was wondering what you were going to say about it. Thanks! :)

Edit: As you can see in my code, I started out making an array of text boxes of which I was planning on shuffling, but after realizing that the shuffle function could be done in a straightforward and simple way (without using an array, since there are only 9 positions) I opted to use the simple method of direct data transfer from one global variable to another. Each time Algodoo starts running, a random number between 1 and 5 determines how many times the text boxes get shuffled. They get shuffled sufficiently enough that most people would not be able to mentally keep track of the various shift patterns that the game produces. I actually like the way that I ended up doing the shuffle.

I'm not the one who needs to post a video that explains how this scene works. If a person needs to "ALT + click" and do stuff like that, then it is too confusing and too complex for most people to figure out how to put those parts together and to make them work. Just because YOU understand how to make your own scene work, doesn't mean that everyone else knows how to do it. Because of the fact that your scene is not intuitive or easy for most people to figure out, I think that you really should post a video that shows a few examples of how to connect the parts together and to make them work as expected. I'm a fairly smart guy, but I really struggled to try to figure out how to make this scene work! :s
Does anyone else besides me hear the Mission Impossible theme song each time I open these comments? :o
Very well done.

Just wondering.... Do you have any requirements concerning the use of these controls in other people's scenes? In other words, should someone ask permission from you before using and posting them in their own scenes? Do you require that they credit you for the controls that they use? Even if you have no specific requirements, I suggest that you mention a short note in the scene description about your desires concerning this because I have always squawked to people over the years that I have been Admin about how important it is to ask permission before using another person's work in their own scenes.

Thanks!

Ummmm.... What exactly is this thing supposed to do? Your scene description says "watch", and that's what I did, but except for those spinning disks, nothing happens! Surely this scene does more than just spin a few disks, right? Could you please explain how this "computer" is supposed to compute something?

UPDATE:
Wait.... I see little circles streaming out of a box and bouncing off the side of your "computer". So, I guess that's what you mean by a "cannon" shooting a computer. (Xray shakes head in disbelief)

Wow, I wish that other people would respond as quickly and as thoroughly to my inquiries as you do! Thanks again!

My reply: That's a great idea, and I think that it would be fun to work on, but I'm a little tired of this scene, and I am currently working on a different one which I plan to publish on the next anniversary of my birthday. If you feel so inclined, you are welcome to embellish my Lottery Ticket scene, as mentioned above, and then publish it. You and I would split the profits, 60/40.

(Just kidding of course. My take would be 80%).
Whoopee
Quote: "Why do I suddenly want to make algobucks a real thing in the game now"

Reply: I have no idea because I cannot read your mind.

Quote: "alright im makin a scene stand back everyone"

Reply: Why do we need to stand back? Will your scene make our computers explode? :o
The vehicle (I assume is the green triangle) is nearly impossible to control with mouse movements. Just a tiny movement left or right makes the triangle spin. Then I move the mouse in the opposite direction, and the triangle starts to spin the other way. The control has a lot of delay which adds to the difficulty. Maybe it would help if you can provide a link to a YT video that shows how an expert (you) does it.

Tunks L8tur
Did you say "it's kinda cool." ?
Well, as far as I can tell, it's totally worthless because the panel that says "Shut down gravity" does not do anything at all with gravity. It only deletes the text boxes. And the "search engine" panel is totally bogus too because it does nothing except it displays an error message when the button gets clicked. What good is that? :o
An comment. I made this creation Comment!
<_<
I won $2500 minus $300 for the three tickets that I purchased. After I put the winnings into my Algobank, I swore to the AlgoGods that I would never buy another lottery ticket. So regardless of the fact that I may be mathematically challenged, I STILL WON!
You should learn how to spell.
That's not a new idea. It's known as "Gray Code". Google it!
Interesting and timely scene. Nice job, as usual.

Q: What do the yellow and green segments in the outer ring indicate?

I sent you a PM.
