b2Lego -- Take a look at my scene response. I wanted to make a scene and to test it before I told you what to do. A full description is included, but let me know here if you have questions or problems with it.
I tried to look up "Bliss lock" but was not able to find anything on the web about it. But when I discovered that the correct spelling is "Blish lock" I then found some information about it.
Also, I was able to increase the fire rate of your gun by reducing the density of the components in the bolt group. Algodoo seems to give all geometries a default density and weight which may be too large or too small for some things. I found that I could dramatically improve the fire rate of your gun by reducing the density of most of the bolt components. I also noticed that the bolt would bounce slightly when going into battery. That bounce can be reduced to nearly nothing by reducing the "Restitution" of the bolt and of the breach block.
Other than those minor details, you did a nice job on this gun!
@Skrubs -- Admins, such as me and wild bill, have some special "tools" which help us do our job. One of those tools is we have access to the IP addresses of every user. That's one of the ways that we use to determine if a user has more than one user account. We can't tell you about everything that we can do because they are top secret, for Admin eyes only.
It's better to put the script in "postStep" rather than in "update" because update is active all the time even when the scene is not running. By placing the script in postStep, the rainbow color change will happen only when you click on the RUN button. As long as you are teaching stuff, you should explain this to your pupils.
Okay, so I looked at the outside and inside rims. Ummmm... so, what am I supposed to see? They are spinning. Sure, but I think there's supposed to be something else going on, right? You need to add more description so that people will understand what it is that they are supposed to see.
"Adjust the camera to see"???? What does that mean? How do I adjust the camera? WHAT camera? And what am I supposed to look at? Is it that thing which looks like a comb?
Your optical illusions are very confusing because you do not provide enough information.
@s_noonan ---- Do you happen to know of any other file read/write functions besides system.readWholeFile() and system.writeToFile()? I hope that Emil would have provided more file read/write tools than just those two.
Great! Now I know what to look for. You should place descriptions like your last comment in the optical illusion scenes so that people will know what they are supposed to be seeing. Just because YOU know what the illusion is about, doesn't mean that everyone else is supposed to know what it is.
1. The "user's manual" is almost worthless because, although it explains how to turn the machine on and change speed, it says nothing about how to get a disc out of the disc holder, and how to load the disc into the disc reader. Details, details, details!
2. After puttsing (not a word) around, I figured out how to open the disc holders, and also how to load a disc into the reader. Both tasks are very difficult because those things are not glued down. They are easily knocked over, and they can bang into other things which can get knocked around. I suggest that you glue the CD (or DVD) holders to the background. Then a user will be able to open the lids and remove the discs without accidentally moving the holders all over the place by bumping them. Also, the reader machine should be glued to the background. It is MUCH easier to work with when stable.
In general, when you upload any fairly complex device which people do not intuitively know how to use, you need to supply INSTRUCTIONS. Just because YOU understand how to do something, doesn't mean that everyone knows how to do it. The more details you provide, the better your scene will be because people will be able to use it without spending hours trying to figure it out!
Except for those few details, you did a good job on the scene!
Just like with the older scene, he was just baiting for comments. And, sadly, we are giving him exactly what he wanted (just not in the same way that he expected it! ).
That's the funniest looking TV CRT I've ever seen! When turned on, it sends out a single beam like a laser (which is what you've done) instead of scanning horizontally and vertically. What are all those funny little do-dads inside the TV? They look like the guts of an animal!
giangiygas -- I see that you made a few minor changes to your scene, but over all, it's still impossible to use.
How to read the User Manual? I try to open the cover of the manual by dragging it open, but gravity pulls it back down again! The only possible way that I found to read the manual is to delete pages that I have already read. But that's a really stupid way to make a manual!
Another issue is those DVD or CD cases. I can drag the lid open but then how do you get the DVD out of the case? It's too far below the top level of the case to grab it. I could shake it out, but that's rather stupid too.
I realize that you have little or no experience making Algodoo scenes, and that's why I try to help you. If you do not want my help any more, please let me know so that I don't continue to waste my time if you don't want it. Thanks
The game is much too fragile. What I mean by that is, the tabs that a player must pull break very easily, especially when pulled or pushed just a tiny bit too hard. Also, the first time I tried the game, the very first ball got stuck on one of those black pointy things, which backed up all of the other balls. Overall, the game needs work to make it so it doesn't break so easily.
Wow! Very good job on the animated characters! I sat back and watched those funny little guys for quite a long time. I rated this scene a 10. Keep up the great work, Ultragamer564!
islamgamer55 - First of all, Nubman41 was not addressing his comments to you. He was speaking to me, and so you have no reason to stick your nose in the middle of our conversation and express your opinion about a matter in which you know nothing about. Second of all, why don't you hit yourself over the head with those hammers a little harder. Then maybe you will knock some sense into your feeble brain. Now please go somewhere else where you might be wanted because you are certainly not wanted here.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.... About once every few months a newbie will discover this unusual property that Algodoo water has and they will think that they are the first person in the entire world to discover it. Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but this unusual water property was first discovered about nine years ago when Algodoo was originally made available to the public. There are probably a hundred or more scenes posted here in the Algobox archives with the title "Look what I did!!!" or something to that effect. Do a search of the archives or even in the Algodoo Forum (Yes, really! Algodoo has a FORUM!!!) and you will find plenty of references to this strange property of Algodoo water.
Drbalk, thanks for your comments and suggestions. I originally was going to add some pointers for solving the puzzle but there is a lot of information on the web that does a very good job of explaining the logic behind it. That's why I provided a link to a paper on the subject. There are lots of reference links in the paper which branch off to other articles and links to other versions of this fascinating puzzle.
