No, I have no control over how the website works. And I can almost guarantee you that the company who owns this website (Algoryx) would not make such a change. And besides, if some users want to make comments in a foreign language, they have the right to do that, and there is no way to prevent it with software.
All of your scenes that you uploaded are still on Algobox. You can get all of those things that you said you lost by downloading your scenes which contain those items. So, don't worry about it! It's all still there!
True, we did discuss this issue a lot some time ago, and as you can see from observing other scenes by me, s_noonan, and I think maybe kilinich, there were many different ideas for doing it. The way that I did it in this scene (using undo and redo) seems to work, but it has not been thoroughly tested under various conditions to see if there are undesirable side-effects. I plan on testing it some more, and also trying the ideas that you mentioned.
My idea does have one noticable side effect, and that is, the scene sort of "hiccups" for a split second when either laser gets hit. I don't know yet if that hiccup will cause other undesirable effects, but that's where extensive testing would wring those things out.
Thanks for the tip, but that's just too much detail for something that is there and then gone so quickly. And sometimes adding or improving tiny details in a scene makes the computer work harder, which could cause lag. And besides those excuses, I just don't want to spend the time on doing that!
You have way too many lasers and circles in your scene. Suggestion: Reduce lag by taking a look at other "plasma ball" and "plasma globe" scenes to see how others have done it. I made two of them some time ago..... Plasma Globe and Plasma Globe V2
Many of your scenes are quite good, so keep up the great work (just try better to remember your password!)
aeromatic -- I hope you don't mind the fact that I made a scene that is similar to yours. I like what you did, but I wanted to post a slightly different version of it, and one that is not as laggy.
Pretty good game! One suggestion: Disable "Follow". (Right click on background, then click on "Stop following object") It's very annoying to have following turned on.
SUGGESTION: In a technical scene about atoms, it makes no sense to have clouds floating by! In fact, those Algodoo clouds can be distracting and annoying in some scenes. The way to disable clouds is to right click anywhere on the background, then uncheck the box labeled "Draw clouds".
....and if you haven't yet checked out the Algodoo forum, there are lots of things to learn there including Thyme scripting. I see from your scenes that you do know some scripting techniques, but there are a lot of advanced techniques that can give you so much power that you will feel like an Algodoo god.
The forum is a great place to ask questions and to share ideas. It uses a separate log-in from Algobox, but you can use the same user name and password that you use here on Algobox if you want to. It just requires a separate registration.
By the way, I am one of the Algodoo Admins (there are about three of us, last time I counted) but I am a lot more active here on Algobox than the other guys. There are other Admins who moderate the forum. Anyhow, if you ever have any problems or concerns, you can contact me through the "Report" link (to report other users breaking the rules) or simply leave a comment on any of my own scenes for routine or technical questions. I don't have all the answers, but if I cannot answer your question, then I could steer you to someone who can.
Oh, one more thing.... In case you did not know this, you can "subscribe" to your own scenes, and then you will receive a message alert whenever anyone posts a comment to a scene that you subscribe to (including your own). That way you don't need to keep checking to see if anyone posted a new comment because you will be alerted automatically!
Why don't you give your scenes titles that make sense and that people can read and understand? A scene title should describe either what the scene is about, or it can describe what is in the scene. For example, this scene might be titled "marble machine" or something like that.
Thanks Pootis-Man! I appreciate the nice comments.
It's just like learning a new language or learning how to play a new musical instrument...... It requires three things: Practice, Practice, and Practice!
Yeah, it does look like it's coming out of his pockets (lol). I tried different locations for the stink, but because of that type of picture, nothing worked very well. Now that I think about it more, probably a side profile picture would have been more effective. Then I could have shown him bending over and releasing his stink bombs that way!
