If I really had the time I would just make tiny ball bearings with friction and connect them as a chain. But that would make many thousands of pieces to this.
Algodoo is not the only reason I came up with this silly theory. It was actually on paper and I'm just seeing trying to show what I was seeing, mathematically in algodoo. The reasoning is that the tensions have not just the vertical component but two seperate horizontal components. Its not like making something like that in real life would be even close to impossible, anyways. I am just trying to relay the idea to other people who might agree that it is a little awkward. If you do not see it, move on.
S-noonan. I really am impressed with your sprocket and chain. The one thing I would like to point out is that a roller chain not only has hinges to connect the two pieces together, but has a free rolling center where the sprocket connects to. Your roller chain would operate a whole lot smoother if you would make a free rolling circle where it actually collides with the sprocket. If a roller chain did not have that free rolling center that collides with the sprockets teeth, it would be a lot less practical to convert torque and would be a lot more grinding then the chain was worth. Please consider this design flaw in your amazing setup.
Just a suggestion for the smoothness of your roller chain. If you observe an actual roller chain, there are not only hinges to connect the outside pieces together, but there is actually a cylinder that rolls where the chain collides with the sprocket. If you do not believe me, look at a bicycle chain and observe how it rolls when you touch it in the middle. Your layer that collides does not actually roll, but the hinges allow it to go around the sprocket. If you add an axle that allows the circle that collides with the sprocket to actually spin, You would have a much more realistic roller chain. That is why they are called roller chains! Because there is a roller in the middle of each segment of the chain, not just hinges that let the pieces bend up or down. Just a suggestion to make that chain look perfect.

Is there any way you could explain to me how I could add it to yours and use it for myself to see if I notice any difference? I know having more hinges means more calculations but I am just curious.
Because your chain has what appears to be a lot of jitters and I am uncertain why these forces are clashing with each other. Especially seeing as how it was so well measured.
Well I sure would have used his name if I could remember which one it was when I went to upload it. I dont usually use peoples stuff but he mentioned it in my post when I was talking about problems the way the chain functions. It really was not something I necessarily needed to make my device work. I had his permission, As seen in the comments above. It is S_noonan, which he gives partial credit to another person in his description. Imagine if I was uncertain who created the idea and was unsure who to give credit to without doing some serious research and finding out who the original creator and most major contributor was? You could only imagine I had no intention on being degrading or rude. And because we are giving screen names, its not like I could actually credit a known name, individual, anyways. But I do appreciate you trying to keep my morals in check. I will take note of that the next time something like this occurs
FRA32, I use the weight to increase the potential energy that the system would "theoretically and even against all logic known to man" increase the total sum of the energy in the system. It is an absolute long shot and even unfavorable to all understood physics but that why I consider it a theory and something I have tampered with for a while now. It is because of the way it looked to me, mathematically. Which could very well be just simple errors but the software has also given me a slight stroke of ego on the concept. Thanks for pointing that out.
I am actually in the process of building a tiny model of this and the only thing that is holding me up is making a homemade, ladder chain. I could even send you the link of the silly start of this whole theory and why I insist there is some way to "get something more" out of this gravity system. Its all just a fun theory to me and does not hurt anyone. It allows me to be in fantasy land that god is forgiving and there are forces that can be used to gain net energies, without poisoning everything on our plant. It is strictly fantasy land.
