This is a common problem, the standard sim.frequency=100hz
Scenes involving high speed events commonly require higher frequencys
Posting scenes that change the frequency automaticaly is frowned oppon atleast without letting people know
The siminfo tab in the files will show what frequency you are currently running among other usefull info
To change the sim.frequency hit the ~ key this is the one just to the left of the 1
and right above the tab key
this opens the "console" which I know little about
once there type sim.frequency=1100 or whatever you want, then hit enter and hit
~ again to close the console
from this point on the sim.frequency will stay at whatever value you entered till
you change it or load a scene that changes it, prolly why you ended up at 350hz
Hope this helps
Nils, What nonslider value did you find?
I was the first entry and havnt done anything fundamentaly different since
so apparently the contest creator doesnt think I have exploited any
"loopholes"
PS thanks s_noonan
Cool, now that you have algodoo check this out:
http://www.algodoo.com/algobox/details.php?id=55018
This would be very difficult to build without the grid,
lasers are very handy too
Very Cool 10/10
PS My Napier Deltic is also fully throttleable and is modeled after
a Brittish marine diesel
PSS it would run smoother if you make it fire 1,3,2
PS, SomeoneElse was trying to run this in 1.9.5 Beta is the reason for his problems
I dont plan to even try and fix it in the Beta, I'll wait for the final release
It could work either way I guess but most Radials fire alternately
the way yours is setup it fires 1,2,3 then a pause before firing again
which would sound wierd but I supose they could have had a reason
1,3,2 would have even power pulses. I havnt had any luck finding
the firing order for the original engine
On a funny note I bet that if they could have figgured out electronic
valves in 1909 they could have made a throttle
the big problem in algodoo is something that complex lags terribly
and realistic RPMs are impossible in a true piston engine becaues the sim
cant keep up
