Oh, well that could be true because I am not an expert on the physics of sinking ships. For that, you would have to ask s_noonan because he is an expert on everything.
That's because all objects are located on a different layer. If you right-click on the background while the scene is not running, you could then select a different layer to work on. The default layer is layer-0 (zero), but all objects in this scene are on layer-1. select layer-1 by clicking on it (the word will change color to red), then you will be able to select objects. You can move objects between layers (with copy and paste) and you can do a lot of other interesting things with them. There are some topics about layers in the Algodoo forum which are informative and helpful. Check them out!
carl00s01 - There are two ways that you can show me scenes without any users seeing them, and they are:
1. Send me a link to the scene(s) in a Personal Message (PM) in the Algodoo forum, or
2. Upload a scene to Algobox and then immediately delete it. After you do that, let me know in a comment (like you did here) and I will be able to view your deleted scenes. Only Admins can view deleted scenes.
Do you have a log-in name and password for the forum? They can be the same or different from Algobox. My user name, Xray, is the same on the forum as it is here on Algobox.
BlueMario - What do you mean by you "lost" your account? You uploaded a scene today with your BlueMario account, so why would anyone believe that you lost it? Please explain, and maybe we can get it back for you. But you cannot have two accounts, so I will have to ban either your old account or this new one. The choice is yours.
Why are you posting another "Remember Satoru" scene, when ultragamer already posted one about 3 months ago? Are you truly sad that he died because you knew him very well? Was he a close friend of yours? Was he a family member? Or are you posting this just so you can hopefully get other people to make sad comments? My guess is before Ultragamer found out that Satoru died recently, that he (ultragamer) and everyone else here on Algobox never heard of the guy! Let's be real.... How many video game company presidents and CEO's who are living today do you worship as a childhood hero? Probably ZERO. (zero hero! LOL). So, I think that you guys are just trying to impress others with your phony sadness for someone who you didn't even know existed until very recently. Am I right? I mean, I am an "older" adult, and I loved to play Nintendo games for many years, but while playing those games I had no idea who Satoru was, and I really didn't care. Now that he is dead, I still don't care, except that I do feel sadness for his family. But that kind of sadness would be for ANY family who lost a loved one. It's not because I feel that Mr. Satoru was anyone special.
Just my humble opinion. Does anyone else agree with me? If so, leave a comment!
Overall, nice job! BUT, it seems to have a couple of odd behaviors. For one, the engine speeds up and slows down on its own even when not pressing the up arrow key. Next, you really should correct the HP readout so that it doesn't show negative values. I understand WHY it happens, but when you've spent a lot of time and effort on making such an awesome scene, you should go the distance to clean up any known bugs or inconsistencies (just my humble opinion). And thirdly, turn off those stupid clouds! Why people leave those Algodoo clouds turned on when the scene makes no sense to have clouds floating by, I just don't understand.
Except for those picky items, you did a great job as usual.
For some strange reason each time I watch this scene, I hear the music from "Stairway To Heaven" playing in the back of my head. Is that weird or what?
MORE INFO: I removed that engine in the scene and installed an engine that I borrowed from another user's scene (I suck at making engines) and I want to report that your dyno works flawlessly! It is very stable, and it provides a smooth and linear load on the engine. Awesome job!
First off, I cannot send you a password because I cannot create passwords and I do not have access to anyone's password.
So, what happens when you click "I forgot my password"? You should be able to get a new password through that system unless you originally registered with a bogus Email address (unfortunately, many people do that).
BlueMario57 - Did you register a valid Email address for your BlueMario account? If you did, then Algoryx will send you a new password when you click on the "I forgot my password" link. If you registered with a bogus Email address, then you are screwed, because Algoryx will not be able to send you a new password, and you will have to just continue to use your new account called BlueMario57.
There isn't anything else that I can help you with.
I get a horrible headache from all the algowhateverthons and all the color whatever camps and all those silly stick people, so I just do the best I can. Everything has a reason, but not everything has a purpose. And I am only human. Hope that helps!
Well, asking me to help you learn script is like asking me to help you learn Italian or Chinese. That is, it would take a lot of my time. So, I will tell you what we tell all newbies who ask to learn Thyme script, and that is we suggest that you go to the Algodoo forum and read all you can about Thyme scripting. Then go through some of the older scenes that were made by myself and other guys who use a lot of script in their scenes, and try to figure out how it works. If you get stumped on anything, I (and others) would be happy to answer your questions and to give you some suggestions. But please understand that no one is going to hold your hand and teach you scripting as if you were sitting in a classroom. It just ain't gonna happen! Most of the hard work will be on YOUR shoulders.
Probably not what you wanted to hear, but that's just how it goes.
By the way, that's how most others, including myself, learned how to write script. Some of us had previous programming experience and so it came a lot easier for us, but for others who have had little or no programming experience, it will come slowly and my seem confusing at first. Just like learning Chinese!
Hello, AFanOfCarykh's mom! -- Thanks for sending me your message in the comments. Unfortunately, Algobox does not have a messaging system, and most people who use Algobox do not use the Algodoo forum, which DOES have a Personal Messaging system.
And thanks for letting me know about your son's condition. It is difficult for me as an Admin to know if a user has issues that he/she cannot help, such as your son, or if he/she is simply a child who wants to make trouble. I do get some of those occasionally. Please explain to him that other users get upset when someone uploads a lot of scenes over a very short period of time because doing so pushes everyone else's scenes to the bottom and off the main page. That would be great if he could be told to limit the number of scenes that he posts to maybe 2 or 3 per day, especially if the scenes are similar to each other.
Quality is much more important than quantity. Anyone is capable of uploading a ton of poor quality (junk) scenes, but to what end? Just so you can brag about how many scenes that you've uploaded? I suggest that you concentrate on the quality of your scenes rather than the quantity, and then you will be proud of your accomplishment.
...AND other people will be impressed by what you did!
