Yup, it was the same back when I was in Middle School (back then it was called Junior High School). We learned stuff that they don't teach in the classroom!
Yeah, I kind of thought that people would take my title the wrong way, but as soon as they open the scene, they would know right away that it has nothing to do with how to end your life!
Yes, I spelled "Wack" differently in the game (Whack). I wanted to point that out before all the spelling and grammar sharks here on Algobox start to swarm all over me and eat me for lunch!
@Kyle3912 - 244 is a good score, but the game is too new to determine what a really good score would be. Time will tell! Thanks for the report!
@pnvv - Nope, I cannot play it because I'm 137 years old. 122 seems like a good score, but like I told Kyle, time will tell after more scores are reported (as long as people tell the truth and don't exaggerate their scores! )
I average around 10 points per game. This is a great idea, and I think it can be improved by adding more features or levels. One suggestion that I have is, instead of ending the game when your green ball gets hit, just reduce the score by one point. And like in my Whack A Mole game, base the gameplay on a timer.
@Utragamer564 - I would have a problem with this scene if individual names were mentioned, or even certain groups. But no person or group was singled out. Therefore, I see no reason to delete it.
I tried different ways to grab that value but without success, so I don't know if it's even possible. If no one gives you a good answer here in Algobox, then you might try posting your question in the Algodoo Forum. There are many knowledgeable people who hang around the forum but who do not post scenes on Algobox. Hopefully someone there will have a good answer for you!
Hey, maybe you could help me find a scene that I have been searching for. I don't think it was one that you made, but you might remember it anyways. The scene has a fairly long, slender, triangular shaped pointer that rotates on an axle, and it has a laser beam shining out of the pointy end of the triangle pointer. When the scene is running, any object (box, circle, or polygon) that happens to get hit by the laser, will have it's geom type (for example, "box"), it's color, and I believe some other value like its size, will be displayed. The laser will "lock" onto it. If the geometry happens to fall away from the laser, and another object gets into the laser beam, then it's info will be displayed. While the scene is running, various objects will randomly bounce around and occasionally get locked onto by the laser and its data displayed. Could you, or anyone else reading this tell me the title of that scene? I've been searching for it with many different keywords without success.
Thanks homieeee! Actually, the only thing that I need is, how to get the name of the geometry. For example, if a box, where is the name "box" stored? So, if something collides with a box, I want to get the name so that I can confirm that it's a box that the object collided with rather than a circle or a polygon. Is there a way to do that?
@lololoer - I finally found the scene that I was looking for on my own computer! I must have changed the name of the title because I cannot find a copy of it on Algobox. But what I now know is the person who made the scene used the same technique that homieeee used to name the geometries. I now have what I need for my scene.
1. What do you mean by "no lzerlel coments". There's no such word in the English language as lzerlel.
2. What is a "geometry dash"? I have been on Algobox for a number of years, and I have never heard of geometry dash before. People may be able to help you if you can explain these things so that others will understand you.
None of the balls show textures, and so they are all white! The balls probably look normal to you on your computer, and that's because the textures have been saved, but they were not saved with the scene. To everyone else, the balls are all white. You need to make sure that all of the textures have been saved along with the game file.
EDIT: I now know what the problem is. Your texture image files, such as "1 Ball.tiff" is NOT an image of a 1-ball but rather it is a copy of a website page! So, Algodoo doesn't know what to do with it. You need to save each image of a ball, rather than a website page.
T'wind - Thanks for the feedback! When using a real box cutter with the blade exposed, there is no left mouse button to press. You have to be very careful not to cut yourself or cut things that you don't intend to cut. That's why I made it like I did. The user has to be careful how they use that knife! Maybe it adds slightly more of a challenge to an otherwise boring game!
lololoer - I already use layers. I put the entire scene on layer-1 in order to prevent cheating. And I put the ropes on collision layer-A so that the knife can only cut ropes and nothing else. It works just find the way I did it. Thanks anyways for the suggestion!
