Why don't you zoom out before saving the scene? If you did that then you would not need to tell people to zoom out, and then you could give your scene a sensible title!
1. Where is the example body labeled "B"? I don't see it.
2. What is the thruster used for? It's spinning around but I don't see what it is supposed to be thrusting.
3. When you say "it should work with every possible body", I assume you mean boxes, circles, and polygons. Right?
Maybe if you would give a brief overview of what this scene is about and what you expect it to do, it would help people to understand it better.
Thanks
EDIT: Forget my question #1. I had to zoom way out in order to finally find it!
Well, S.A., based on your description, it is a very simple thing to do. When laser hits an object, set thruster to 1.0. When laser is not hitting an object, then set thruster to zero. Sounds simple enough except for one important issue. Because of the high rate of rotation, you will encounter a stroboscopic effect on the laser. In other words, the laser is actually flashing on and off at a high rate, and the fast spinning can make it totally miss a target, or occasionally miss a target, especially if the target is far away. In order to have this work consistently, you will probably need to slow down the rotation speed by quite a lot.
I rarely use FaceBook, and only with family members, so I'd rather communicate through the Algodoo forum PM (Personal Message system). My handle (Xray) is the same on the Algodoo forum as it is here on Algobox. Would that work for you?
Hi SA,
I'm sorry but I don't understand what you are saying. Did you get an error message when you attempted to communicate with me through the forum PM system? Have you used the system before while chatting with other people without any problems? Let me know, and I can try contacting you, rather than you contacting me if there's a problem.
Oh, so it's one of those modern Navy guns that are controlled by a computer! I just hope the computer doesn't get a virus and the gun start to shoot friendly ships!
Yes, this is mind blowing, and it doesn't belong to you! You copied this scene from BloodMoonCZ's scene. SHAME ON YOU for taking credit for someone else's work!
HUH? This is confusing!
By the way, please do not use "groovyOn" in the future! It makes me sick to my stomach. So, the first thing that I did was to enter "groovyOff" in the console.
You did a nice job on the flashing lights, but there seems to be some textures missing where parts of the tree are solid blue! Was that a mistake or did you intentionally make it that way?
Salamander - Just in case you did not receive my warning for some reason, I'll repeat it here, and hopefully you will get my message. Please do not upload any more scenes that are messages to other users. We do not allow that because Algobox is not a forum, and we do not want it to turn into one. So, only upload active "Action" scenes, and no more scenes like "A Note" which I recently deleted TWICE.
Thank you....
Xray (Algodoo Admin)
After you reply by leaving me a comment to let me know that you received this message, then I will delete this message and your reply.
yellowmarkers - As stated above, I started with s_noonan's scene, and modified it so that it does what it does. If you do not understand Thyme scripting, then you would not understand any further explanation. Nearly the entire scene was programmed using Thyme Script.
This is a cute scene, but all of those ugly axles and fix-joints just totally ruin it! Suggestion: Slide the transparency slider (A:) all the way to the left on each one to make them invisible. The scene will look much better!
Other than that minor detail, you did a nice job on it.
BTW - Some users (like me) do not uncheck the checkbox in the setup menu that allows axles and fix joints to stay displayed when Algodoo is running. Therefore, it's best just to make them invisible for those of us who use it that way!
Okay, great! Log-in to the Algodoo forum, and start reading the posts that explain Thyme scripting. You can also learn a lot by looking through other people's scenes to see how they did certain things. That is how everyone learns. You have to make the effort to learn it on your own because on one is going to hold your hand and spend many hours to teach you everything. If you make the effort to learn scripting, then you will eventually be able to make some awesome scenes!
yellowmarkers - After reconsidering that scene, I have decided to UNDELETE it, but only after you agree to edit a sentence in the description that reads: "you can use these if you ar a noob at Algodoo" Please do not use that word "noob" because some people get insulted by it. It is better to write: "you can use these if you are a new user at algodoo "
So, will you change that line in the description if I undelete it? You do know how to edit a scene, don't you?
Oh, a meme, eh? Well it still sounds like Klingon to me! I tried to translate it to English, but the entire Internet was not able to interpret its meaning.
