Spent all evening trying to perfect a new kind of suspension on ChaDonSom`s amazing offroad course.
Uses very light wheels to act as one-piece shock absorbers rather than complicated systems of springs,exploiting the relative weakness of very low-density objects and any soft connections attached to them.
The advantages I`ve found in balloon suspension are that it is easy to make and that it can`t break or malfunction.
The disadvantages I`ve found are poor damping and the fact that the body of the vehicle hits the ground when the suspension bottoms out.
This particular vehicle is meant to behave very much like something with treads and a complicated suspension system, but no sticking or loosening at high speeds.
