The circles are not fixed in place and therefore can be used in moving systems where variable length is desirable, like in a robotic arm for the hand control.

Also, if the cable itself bends while it is rotating, the input and output will still have the same angle.

I know, there's alreay a way to do this with extended hinges, but this may be a much more visually sound way of doing it, as it somewhat resembles a drive cable.
