The fragments of the car aren't the right shape. Because of this, the car explodes and implodes on hard collision, but don't break just the right amount on different speeds of collision. The fragments from which the car break are just lateral. The fragments should be shaped like cracks, hexagons etc. or somewhat quadratically. See some other cars to get the idea.
