ummm.... no you didn't.

You just stored energy into the altitude of your ball.
It does not gain or loose energy... (set sim speed up to 5 and you see)

Uhh, dude, that's not perpetual. yeah, lasts a long time, but ramp the speed up to 5000000x (edit the text) and put a pen on it. watch. lasts for about 30 secs on that speed. that calculated to 150000000 seconds, which is 2500000 minutes which is 41666.666R hours. a very VERY long time, but not perpetual.
