No motors!!
Runs on its own!!!
Just 2 half-made gears overlapped!!!
NO MOTORS IN THE HINGES!!!
A mistake for trying to make a gear...
I anyone can say how this works...

It seems that the outside hinge is constantly pulling toward the inside hinge. And since they're not completely parallel, it just pulls the outside hinge in a circle which causes the rotation with the inside hinge as its axis. :D Thats my theory anyway. It's a nice discovery too. I'm sure people are dying to figure out a way to rotate things without a motor.
Nice job. I agree with the above comment. It has an HUGE pulling force. 5/5 Try to find more stuff like this.
yet another invention that was an accident. Like Kevlar. And Vulcanizing.
Hey, Walrai,
I checked out the thing, tried a few tests on it. First I erased the front hinge. The thing just flew apart.
Second, I erased the other hinge, same result. I then erased the triangles around the edges, and stopped it from moving with the drag tool. Normally, it would start up spinning again. This time, without the triangles, it just hung there swinging slowly. The thing that makes it spin is, yes, the stress as you said, but also the triangles trying to pop away from the overlapping circle. This is how I made it, for other people to use:

I was originally trying to make a gear. I took a circle, and drew a small triangle on the side of it, fixating it to the side. I kept cloning those triangles to about halfway when I got lazy and cloned what I had, mirrored it, and rotated it around to go around the other gears. That is why there are 2 circles; there are actually also 2 separate sets of gear teeth. I then went to line them up and got an offset, accidentally. I took off pause, and the thing started spinning!!! That is the story aspect of it...
...I cut it off, feeling that it was too long.
Here is the list to make the motor with no motors.

1. Make a circle.
2. Draw an appropriately-sized triangle.
3. Fixate it to the side at the angle at which you would make a gear at.
4. Clone it, and place them halfway around the circle.
5. Clone that half-completed gear.
6. Mirror it.
7. Rotate it 180 degrees and align it slightly off-center of the original.
8. The hinge will change to attach to the original (now behind the clone)
9. Happy spinning!!!:)

Oh, and can somebody please tell me how to save this as a phunlet, like the ragdoll or house you can get by right-clicking on nothing and clicking "import phunlet..." so I can put this in more of my creations?? Thanks a lot!!!

I forgot to add, when you line up the two half finished gears:
1. Erase the one of the two overlapping triangles.
2. The more offset, the faster it spins. Just not too much offset, or it won't work.

hope it's better than this one!!!
You have a lot of time on your hands, don't you Physicsguy??? :P
It's called the forums.
Please don't clutter up the comments for things like that.
