My first try at making a CVT. It seems to work well, and if you do it right, you can get insane speeds. I haven't checked, but you can get the gear ratio to about 7:1, giving you crazy speed or crazy torque.

Ok, you got me stumped again! I can see how you change the radius of the red circle with the lasers, but how the heck does the radius of the green circle change in direct opposite to the red circle, and it has no active collide layers? :s
There are two circles for each gear; a programming circle, and a gear circle.
The gear circles are fixated to the programming circles, and the programming circles are axled together. The axle that connects them has almost no hinge constant, and tells the green circle to match the red circle's size.
