Questions:

1. In the speed adjust lasers there is a variable labeled v. When I enter v into the console to see its value, it returns "undefined". How can you use a variable that's undefined?

2. What drives the input circle? It's obviously not the axle. Also, I tried to change scene.my.inputRPM to something other than 50, and it would not allow me to change it. Without digging deeper into the code could you briefly explain how the scene works, especially the code that works on the input side of the transmission?

3. Does this scene have any "red herrings" in it?

Thanks
Answers:

1. V is a local variable whose scope does not go beyond the onLaserHit event. The console does not see local variables.

2. The input circle has 2 axles; 1 stretched and 1 normal. The normal axle (motor widget) controls the RPM. The stretched axle connects the motor (input circle) to the transmission. Scene.my.inputRPM is an output variable for converting actual angular velocity in rad/sec to RPM.

3. No.

So, can a local variable be used without first defining it? I know that in order to use an underscore local variable (such as _var) you have to define it before it can be used.
This is just awesome! I'm glad I inspired you
Xray, Yes. Lethalsquirl, Thanks.
Dude!! did you come up with this on your own? If so, did you see that the cars I made resently use the exact same idea for the transmition? crazy!
TheInventor,

Yes, I did come up with this on my own. I think I searched transmission scenes first, but I know I didn't check car scenes. Seeing that your car scenes were made after this scene, I suspect we both came up with the same idea. I wouldn't be surprised if someone else came up with the idea first.
