This scene uses two #2 pencils to determine the balance point of the meter stick and then calculates the hanging mass. See animator13's Find an unknown mass with a meter stick to see how the calculation works.

Rev A: Set sim.frequency = 1000.
Rev B: Measurement resolution now 0.0001 kg.

show grid
You can stabilize the displayed values by reducing the number of digits of precision like this example: text = {
"B: " + math.tofloat(math.toint((Scene.my.x2 - Scene.my.x1) * 10000)) / 10000
}

Of course you would need to change the variables shown here for each of the three display boxes.

Question: Why did you need to set the sim frequency = 1000? It seems to work Okay for me at 60.
Xray,

Thanks. I used your suggestion.

I set sim.frequency = 1000 for smoother operation and to prevent the ruler from vibrating off the pencils after the pencils have moved.
Looks good and works very well. :tup: I wanted to rate this scene, but ratings are not currently working due to the new website changes. Maybe later (don't worry..... I'll give it a solid 10 :) )
