Scene tag

Home made 12 gauge shotgun.

This one uses short recoil mechanism to operate. (luger-style toggle action)
Trigger group is very simple, similar to the ones found in many handguns, and this time safety can be engaged while hammer isn't cocked.

To shoot:
1. Put the shells into the magazine (integral, non detachable, 3 shells capacity) from the top. (like in kar. 98)
2. Disengage the bolt lock (either pull the bolt all the way back and let it go, or pull the bolt release button down)
3. Disengage the safety.
4. Pull the trigger, or push the [return/enter] key. (semi-auto only)
5. Bolt should lock back after the last shell was fired.

Red shell = buckshot
Green shell = birdshot
White shell = rifled slug

@ Yuras12 I see you based the main body of the gun off of a Sten MKII

Really nice.

Not really, I just wanted to give it that improvised look and it kind of made it similar to sten. Some of the parts are from my M1 carbine, Mossberg 500A, and few others., but none are modeled after sten.;)
Really nice, i have tryed out all of your weapons and you are, in fact, getting better each day. as i said; Good job 10/10
Nice shotgun  . I like how the barrel slides forwards and backwards. I wouldn't know what it could be for, though. I guess it helps make a tighter seal? It looks cool, whatever it's supposed to do.

And I like the look of the nuts and threads. They look crazy realistic.

I did have a few problems loading and firing it, like when I got it fully loaded and pulled the trigger, it wouldn't fire, but after I jiggled the bolt a few times it worked fine for a few shots, and then it would screw up again.

Overall, it's a really cool and good looking shotgun that works fairly well, especially for phun where there's no grid and it's difficult to make tight fitting things, but does screw up sometimes. 9/10 :P

but one question, do you do requested guns? cause i'd love to see a browning High Power Mk. III :) just asking :P
Doesn't work properly in Algodoo. The bolt doesn't recoil hard enough, and the shells don't get ejected. I understand the differences, so I'm not gonna dock you any points. 10/10
@ FruitMonger

The moving barrel is a locking mechanism which would prevent the cartridge from being pulled out of the chamber too early.

Just imagine the bullet was still in the barrel when the bolt started extracting the shell. the pressure would blow it back so hard that the gun would break. and the shell bottom could explode, sending nice sharp shrapnels out of the gun and probably in ur face. That's why many guns have a locking mechanism that unlocks the bolt or slide from the barrel AFTER the bullet has left the barrel.

Gas operated guns have a stationary barrel and a gas tube in which some of the pressure from the barrel pushes a piston backwards. the piston is connected to the bolt carrier which in turn unlocks the bolt on its way back. When the bolt is unlocked it goes along with the bolt carrier and extracts the bullet.

I suggest u to watch some 3D-anims on Youtube, they show the actions pretty clearly
@ DualDesertEagle

Interesting.
made an extended mag which hold nine shells, gonna go see if i can get a detacheable mag thingy going...

love these guns_o_
i inform you, IT IS FREAKING IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE DETACHEABLE
have a nice day
you should start trying to make some new types of ammunition like hollow points and then you should make soft targets to shoot at so people can see penatration of the different rounds:) and one last thing. you should try to make a shotgun like the remmington 870 supermag that can shoot 2 3/4 and 3 inch shotgun shells:P

@fragle, it's a lot harder to do in 3d/real life, but if you can manage it then go fill out an ATF form 1 (which allows you to build a firearm for personal possession). Keep in mind however, that if you want to make the barrle less than 18 inches you'll need to pay an extra $200 and wait for approval (Short Barrled Shotguns are an NFA item and subject to extra regualtion).
