Hi!
It's been a while since I've made a big scene -- so here I am with a new one!
This game is called Fringe and is inspired by Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy.
I wanted to make something a bit less rage-inducing and a bit more adventurous though.
Unfortunately due to Algodoo's constraints (and me really wanting to get the scene out q_q) it's not as big as I'd like -- but I still hope you enjoy it.
Algodoo also causes an issue where if your hand is going too fast it can go through thin objects -- I've tried to figure out remedies but sadly without invisible barriers I can't figure anything out..
CONTROLS
Control Vega (the player rig) with your mouse.
Her hand will follow your mouse. You can use this to walk, throw things, etc!
The idea is to climb to the top of the map -- reaching the summit of Fringelands on top of a r...okay I won't spoil it

It's.. strange.
It's not going to be a very easy journey though -- notably there are 3 major hazards:
Falling, which bypasses checkpoints and can send you all the way back to where you came from if you're not careful!
Vegic Acid, which kills Vega (which sends her to the last checkpoint) or burns your hand
And sawblades, which also hurt your hand and make Vega jump off of them uncontrollably.
Later in the game, there are "strength crystals" -- collect these and unlock 2 new controls:
Q (hold) - Strengthen hand (useful for launches)
E (hold) - Weaken hand (useful for grappling)
If you want to experience the game differently, head right at the beginning to the Gamemode Lab!
Here I have added 5 different modifications to the gameplay:
Tungsten Mode (greatly increases reach and makes the hand immune to sawblades, but turns your hand into extremely heavy tungsten)
Sticky/Easy Mode (allows you to press and hold F to make your hand stick to walls, obstacles, or ceilings! I recommend turning this on for your first playthrough.)
Upside Down Mode (quite disorienting, it turns the camera upside down)
Booster Mode (allows you to press T to move towards your cursor using rockets!)
And finally, low gravity mode -- which just cuts gravity in half.
All of these modifications can stack -- play however you like!

There is no right or wrong way here.

Not mobile friendly -- sorry...

No AI was used in the making of this scene
HOTFIX: Layering was messed up q_q
HOTFIX 2: i forgot to reset the maximum range, so by default you had 2.5 meters of range when you were only meant to start with 1.5

Fixed!
UPDATE: Added an underground thing for the tundra since the snow was awkwardly floating (i forgot to add it q_q)
