whats heavier is the friends we made along the way
A kilogram of steel and a kilogram of feathers are both a kilogram -- so they weigh the same.

The reason feathers fall slowly is because of air resistance. One of the astronauts who went to the moon actually did an experiment -- there is no air on the moon (and thus no air resistance). They dropped a hammer and a feather at the same time, and they both fell at the same speed!

The low density of the feather coupled with its relatively high surface area gives it a lot of drag, significantly slowing its terminal velocity.
