I created a glue block in Algodoo that allows polygons to stick together when they touch this box by modifying scripts.

Here’s how you can create a glue block:

1. Start by creating a box shape.

2. Select the shape, then go to the Script Menu (this option is available only for desktop users).

3. Find the line that says "adhesion =" and set the value to ∞. To achieve this, type "+inf", and it will automatically set it to ∞.

4. (Optional) Locate the line that says "materialName =" and type "GlueBlock". This step can be useful for triggering material names in scripts, but it is not mandatory.

5. Go to "Material" and set the "Restitution" value to 0.000. This will help prevent the shapes from bouncing in this box.

6. You're done! Now you have a glue block! When other shapes touches to the glue block, they will stick together upon touching.

This scene is useful for creating glue effects with shapes, but it will not stick them permanently. Also, you can experiment with this glue block using various shapes around this scene.

Have fun with it!

One more detail that you didn't mention is the object that you want to stick to the glue block must have the same collision layer enabled as the glue block. The glue block in this scene has collision layer "A" enabled, which is the default layer that all objects get when they are spawned. If you only want one particular type of object to stick to the block and not others, then you will want to select some other collision layer (such as B or C, etc) for both the glue block and the other objects that you want to stick to it.

Good scene! I don't recall seeing any other scene in the Algobox archive that explains how to make a sticky block!

By the way, why don't you update your copy of Algodoo? The newer version is better then the older version in many ways!

If I remember correctly, Algodoo 2.2.x doesn't support Windows 8 or earlier.

They may be using Windows 7 or 8 -- I know a few people who still use Windows 7 as a daily driver!
Yeah, I was using win-7 until a couple of years ago when my wife upgraded her computer from win-8 to win-10. I didn't want to listen to her bragging "My computer is better than your computer!" and so I upgraded my computer to win-10 PLUS I got a lot more RAM which was needed to support the upgrade. Now I can brag that I have more RAM than she has! LOL
My dad used to have the exact same kind of computer I had before I built him his current one.

Both computers had 16 GB of RAM, and when I built his new computer, he put all of the ram in his into mine -- so now it has 32 GB!

One time I got Algodoo 2.2.3 to use 20 gigabytes of RAM...
