well, not really infinity.
there are 2 things going on in here:
1. there are little spaces in between the teeth of the gears that are slowly closing in
2. the gear ratio is being changed so much that the last gear appears to be still, while the spaces in the teeth are still being closed in.

also doesn't account for slipped gears or energy lost to "heat" (in real life)

you know it would take billlllliiiiiiiiiiooooons of years tomake the last wheel rotate 1 time around!!!!
