Aww... he looks cute!
Thanks! He looks just like me. :*)
If anyone is wondering how I made him dance without using motors, cams, or crank shafts, I used the "spring engine" technique. What's the spring engine technique? I'm glad you asked, so here is the secret. In normal circumstances, an Algodoo spring has three parameters: 1. Spring Constant 2: Damping 3: Target length.

Spring constant determines how strong a spring is. The higher the number, the stiffer the spring will be. The target length is simply how long the spring is when not being stretched by an external force. Damping is used to keep the spring from oscillating, which is what could happen if a spring is attached to a weight that bounces continuously for a long time. Think of damping like placing a very bouncy spring into a bucket of oil. The oil provides some resistance to bouncing. The higher the damping value, the more resistance to spring oscillations. An automobile shock absorber is a good example of a damped spring mechanism.

Okay, now lets talk about an Algodoo spring which has a property that real-world springs don't have. That is, you can make the damping value a negative number! Why would you want to do that? I'm glad you asked. When you give a spring a negative damping value, it very quickly becomes unstable, depending on how negative the value is. As you play around with this, you will soon realize that you must be very careful to not enter a large negative value because the spring will explode or quickly fly apart, never to be seen again! So, a very small negative value will make the spring slightly unstable (as I did in this scene) making the creature appear to dance around. But if you make the value only slightly more negative, the spring will go crazy very quickly!

So, the bottom line is this: You need to carefully select the right amount of Spring Constant, Damping, and Target Length in order to make your creature (or whatever) dance or shake around without going insane. Play with it and you will se what I mean! :)

Oh, by the way, in case you haven't figured it out, the spring sits just above the creature's head and connects the top of that yellow stick to the background. You can click on the spring and make it visible by clicking on "Appearance" then increasing the "A" slider to 100.

very nice http://www.algodoo.com/algobox/details.php?id=258319 لقد صنعت نسخة جديدة من آلة البيع التي كنت أصنعها منذ فترة بآلية أفضل
Yes, I played your Cola Machine scene. Good job!
لست متأكدًا مما إذا كان وضع لعبتي في تعليقاتك مخالفًا للقواعد ، أو إذا كان ذلك يزعجك أو إذا كنت تريدني أن أتوقف ، فأخبرني فقط! :)
No, it's not against the rules to put a link to your games in my comments, but it's really not necessary to do that because I look at every scene to make sure they do not violate the rules. I see them all! ;)
إذن أنت تلعب كل واحد؟
No, I don't "play" every scene. Many scenes are not playable games, but rather are static (non moving) images. I don't need to play a game in order to find out if it breaks a rule. I just look at it to see if there are things like personal messages, profanity (cuss words), voting scenes, and other rule breakers.
استخدام المحرك الزنبركي مبدع للغاية!
ProfessionalSudo - From now on could you please post your comments in English? Thanks
Im sorry but its hard because my brother has to translate and translate webpages are not accurate and different dialects.
I use "Google Translate" which seems to translate languages very well. Maybe you can use that also. The only problem with doing that is I have to open a link to the Google Translation page, enter the Arabic language text and then tell it to translate. Then in order to reply in Arabic to your comments, I need to enter my English text, tell Google to translate to Arabic, and then copy/paste the Arabic comment to Algobox. Also, other people who may be interested in what you said in Arabic would need to do the translation also. It is unfortunately a lot of steps to do in order to engage in dialog in Arabic and English. By asking you to use English, then other users and myself won't need to go through the extra steps to translate. I hope you are Okay with that.
yes i am trying to use it. also how do you get graphs for speed of circles
Right click on the circle, then select "velocities". After the velocities panel displays, you can select "velocity" in the "visualize" section.
_o_
When I throw $$$ at him he dances out of control!
That's probably because you damaged your computer.
I wanted to modify the scene so that the damping factor depends on the length of the spring. So the damping would increase towards a positive number in case it gets out of control.
The issue is, when I get into the scripting menu of the spring it automatically selects 3 objects and e.this.length returns 3 error messages.
That's a great idea, T_ReiBig! I'll play around with it.

Oh, by the way, if you want to select just the spring body and not the end points, hold down the Alt key then left click the spring body. The Alt key also works with items that were glued together but you want to only select one of those items.

Wow! That’s an amazing project! I’ve only made a simple marble race, how do you create a Crashable car, if you know how. But it’s ok if you don’t.
Also, if you slam him into the ground, I found that the little dancing guy goes crazy for like 5-10seconds, then goes side to side only getting faster so you can’t catch him.
Apparently It’s because the eye seems to be his center. it’s like magnets, and I like magnets!
T_Reißig -- I forgot to mention, if you want to select just the spring body and not the end points, hold down the Alt key then left click the spring body. The Alt key also works with items that were glued together but you want to only select one of those items.
Shroomagonal -- I've never made any crashable or breakable objects but I have seen others do that. In many cases I believe they just cut up an object into a lot of smaller pieces using the knife tool. Not sure how they keep the cut pieces stuck together until someone smashes them with a hammer. Maybe just download a few of those "crashable car" scenes and look and see how they did it. There are hundreds or maybe even thousands of "crashable" or "breakable" scenes in the Algobox archive.
Thank you.
Maybe I’ll make a massive sub that’s breakable!
take him)|(
